Mr. Wickum & BHS hosted the Region 8AA MSHSL Band Solo/Ensemble contest this past Wednesday.  The day was a HUGE success with Bemidji band students receiving 11 Superior Performances and 7 Excellent Performances.

 

Seven BHS Speech students are moving on to the section meet next Thursday, April 6th at St. Cloud Tech:  Tori Bungum, Sarah Bofferding, Kortni Cloud, Maija Faver, Sage Hovet, Mitchell Shaw & Jaxon Anderson – Good Luck and GO JACKS

 

Message from Lynn Falk - Deerwood Bank has been sponsoring our Personal Finance classes through the EverFi Financial Literacy Program.  This week, 19 students became Financial Literacy Certified and were presented their awards from representatives of Deerwood Bank

 

In addition, 6 students also earned certificates this week for mastery of CareerTech's Technical Skills Assessment in Financial Literacy.

 

MCA Math testing will continue next Monday, April 3 and Tuesday, April 4.  MCA Reading testing will continue next Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7.  MCA results so far.

 

To date, 273 students have completed the Grade 10 Reading MCA with 186 Proficient, or 68.4% of All Students tested.  Last year 65.7% of All Students (321) were Proficient, an increase of 2.7%.

 

127 students have completed the Grade 11 Math MCA with 87 proficient or 68.5%

 

For the MCA Science, 151 students have completed the test with 104 Proficient, or 68.9% of All Students tested.  Last year 57.5% of All Students (325) were Proficient, an increase of 11.4%.

 

Eleven Lumberjack students have completed the 2017 Grade 10 MCA Reading test.  Four are Proficient, or 36.4%.  Last year, 6 of the 14 students tested were Proficient, or 42.9%.

The window for entering Term 3 grades will be open from Wednesday, March 29th, at midnight, through Friday, April 7that noon. All grades must be entered by the end of the grading window.

 

With nicer weather on the way, we’ll be having a few more fire and lock-down drills.
