Chiddix Clubs
2026-2027
3:16 Bible and Revival – Mr. Broach
- Meeting times are 8:00-8:35 AM every Friday in Room 316.
- Will meet all year.
- Will discuss several topics about the Bible through discussion and supplemented videos to encourage more in-depth understanding of the lessons.
Bit by Bit –Mrs. Goss (NOT UPDATED FOR 26/27)
- Meeting times are 3:45-5 PM starting October 10th in October in Room 308.
- October- April
- Bit By Bit is a computer science club for any student interested in STEM or computer science. Students can expect to be taught about different programming languages while developing leadership skills, valuable experience, and teamwork skills.
Chess Club –Mr. Phillips
- Wednesday from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM. September 9th through March 3rd in room 307.
- Students learn about chess strategies, play games, and eventually we will send a team to the IESA State Tournament February 26th and 27th.
Chiddix Book Club - Mrs. Glatt
- First semester Wednesday dates: 9/30, 10/14, 10/28, 11/11, 12/9 from 3:45-4:45 in the IMC.
- This book club will start by exploring books on the Rebecca Caudill list and then we’ll decide as a team which books we will read together throughout the year
- Additional book-related games and activities will take place throughout the year.
Creative Writing Club- Mrs. Hatch
- Meeting times are every other Wednesday from 3:45-5:00 pm beginning 9/2 in Room 203.
- September-February
- Last meeting February 10th
- Creative Writing Club is for anybody who likes to express their creativity through words. All you have to do is bring your best effort and imagination. Always remember, a writer isn’t someone who spells every word perfectly, a writer is someone who writes with their heart.
Crochet Club - Mrs. Gaddy
- First meeting will be on Wednesday, 9/10, from 4:00-5:00 pm in room 109.
- Crochet Club is for Chargers who love to crochet or want to learn how to crochet. Everyone is welcome!
Drama Club –Ms. Meszar
- Meetings are from 3:45 - 4:30 PM for the beginning of the year. First meeting is on September 25th in the Cafeteria. A schedule will be provided.
- After auditions, the members will consist of two groups--the play cast and stage crew.
- Fee: $50 (this fee covers the production costs and a drama club t-shirt)
Dungeons and Dragons-Ms. Meszar and Mr. Mellen
- Meetings are from 3:45-5:30 PM beginning September 17th in the IMC. They will meet EVERY Thursday.
- This is a weekly meeting for students who want to learn to play one of the most famous table-top roleplaying games, Dungeons and Dragons, or for those students already playing who want to improve their skills.
- Students should bring their own chromebook to the meetings.
- September - May
eSports - Ms. Anderson
- First meeting is September 23rd from 4:00-5:00 pm in Room 118
- This is a club to expand students understanding of eSports and prepare them for the high school level
- Students will learn proper practice and techniques through high school mentorship and will participate in an Intercity competition later in the year
- 1st Semester dates are 9/23, 10/7, 10/21, 11/18, 12/2, 12/16
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) –Mrs. Carey
- Meetings are the 1st Tuesday morning of each month (7:30-8:20am) and the 3rd Tuesday afternoon of each month (3:45-4:30). This starts Sept. 16th at 3:45 and will be in Room 207.
- This is a club that encourages Christian spiritual growth through fellowship, games, and lessons taught by fellow Chargers.
- Food and drink donations gladly appreciated.
- You don’t need to be an athlete to attend. All Chargers are welcome to come share the gospel and promote Christian Fellowship. All meetings are open to all Chiddix Chargers.
GSA – Ms. Scorzo
- Meetings are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Friday of the month 3:45-5:00 in the IMC. First meeting is on September 5th.

- For all 6th - 8th grade students.
- Fun community gathering time to share our thoughts and talk about topics related to LGBTQ diversity, tolerance and acceptance.
MathCounts –Mrs. Goss (NOT UPDATED FOR 26/27)
Meeting times are 3:45-4:45 PM in room 308 - Beginning October 21st. Please pay attention to announcements for more information.
- October - March (once a week)
- All students that decide to join Chiddix Math Counts will be given the opportunity to engage in mathematics in ways that are both fun and challenging.
- Members who qualify will compete in live, in-person contests against and alongside their peers through local and state competitions.
- Fee: $40 per person (covers the cost of entry fees, snacks, and t-shirt), checks made out to Chiddix Junior High School
Speech Team -Mr. Broach and Mrs. Hopper
- Meeting Times are Tuesday Mornings from 7:45 to 8:35 AM in Room 316. Students are requested to attend in preparation of the IESA Speech Contest.
- There is only one IESA Speech Contest and that date is Friday, November 13th.
- Students participating in Speech must pay a $30 fee, with checks payable to Chiddix JHS. (This covers the cost of performance scripts, practice prompts, and contest entry fees.
Student Council- Mr. Ellison
- Meeting times are the 2nd and 4th Wednesday mornings from 7:30-8:35 AM beginning 09/02 in Room 208.
- This is an organization conducted by students and supervised by the sponsor. This club is the voice of the student body at Chiddix and helps to share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.
- The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects in addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare.
Shop Keepers- Ms. Meszar
- Every Tuesday morning from 7:30-8:20 AM in the cafeteria
- Students in Shop-Keepers run our school store! They help pack orders for individual students and then deliver those items to their advisory teachers that same week.
- Students will run and operate the school store, delivering items to students, helping coordinate spirit week activities, counting inventory of items.
Team Quest –Mrs. Hinshaw
- Meetings are every Monday alternating between 6th grade one Monday, and 7th/8th grade the following Monday from 3:45-5:15 in Room 313. 6th Grade starts on 9/14 and 7/8th grade on 9/21
- The club runs from the beginning of September to the end of March.
- Team Quest is a club designed to challenge students to demonstrate their academic ability, engineering skills and creativity along with promoting teamwork.
- Fee - $20 for the school year (covers the cost of materials and snacks)

Trading Card Game Club- Ms. Meszar, Mr. McKee, Ms. Martin
- Meeting times are Wednesdays from 3:45-5:30 pm beginning 9/16 in Room 316
- Students can meet and discuss various card games and different strategies associated with each game.
- Games discussed will include but not limited to Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh.
- There is no fee associated with being in this club.
