The vision of Open Leadership Training is to make openness the norm in innovation and research. Mentors will play a vital role supporting new leaders as they practice working open and facilitating connections within the network.

Description

A Mentor is a Mozilla community member who has:

Mentors will provide support and guidance to their assigned project leads as they go through open leadership training and learn to work openly on their projects. Mentors will gain valuable coaching skills and connections across the Mozilla and open source community.

Expectations

  1. Continue to model working openly in your communities and projects
  2. Attend mentor training (90min, online) before the program starts
  3. Be available at the same time every week* for the following meetings. See full schedule here.
  1. Meet with your assigned project leads (30min) every two weeks (you will be assigned 1-2 projects)
  2. Attend ‘Full Cohort’ meetings (60 - 90min) every two weeks
  3. Meet with Abby (30min) 1:1 twice over the course of the program for support and encouragement
  1. If possible, attend the Global Sprint (tentatively June 1-2, 2017)

*Mentors can miss up to 5 weeks during the program, but please notify Abby beforehand.

Duration

14 weeks

March 2017 -  June 2017

Time & Commitment

This position will require you to add at least one meeting a week (30 - 90min) to your schedule. It can be hard to predict specific hours a week, but Abby and the rest of the mentorship network are here to help and support you.
