‘together we are stronger’

What’s happened this week ?

We ended our week with a very successful combined Macmillan coffee morning and story cafe. A huge thank you to everyone who donated cakes for the event and to those who attended. What better way to end the week than working in partnership with parents for a great story, with fun craft activities followed by cake and coffee - and all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. So far you helped us raise £140. There are still some cakes left and these will be available for children to buy on Monday for the usual snack price of 30p with the funds from the sale of these being added to today’s total. I’ll let you know next Friday how much we have raised altogether. THANK YOU for your support and feedback from the event. Here are a few of the things you said:

“Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thank you for the extra effort - appreciated.”

“ Another lovely story cafe! Great for all the family.”

Our next planned story cafe is on the first afternoon back after half term - see diary for detail. Hope to see you there!

There were so many lovely photographs from the morning - choosing which to use was very difficult. There are lots more on the website. Why not take a look?

……………………………………………………………………………..

On Monday of this week the PTFA met to organise dates for fundraising events during the current academic year. The have agreed to contribute £1000 to the refurbishment of the outdoor reception learning environment once the new canopy is installed. This is in addition to funds used to purchase a new speaker/PA system and IPod - for playing music in PE and assembly and taking better quality photos and £500 allocated towards the Sea Sanctuary garden grant. Thank you to their hard work raising funds last year and your support attending events.

Sea Sanctuary Garden

Our first volunteer day is here. Work on the Sea Sanctuary garden starts tomorrow. If you can paint, dig, lift or plant we can find you something to do!

Please note for the first few volunteer days for safety reasons it is adults only as we will be using power tools.

Photos from the day will be added to website for you to keep up to date with progress.

Parent/adult volunteers needed for our first gardening day on SATURDAY 1.10.2016 9:00am-12:00am - we’d love your support to help improve the grounds for our children.

This is how the area looks now:

‘together aspire, together achieve, together we are stronger...’
