• The Spring Swim Session is in full swing, and the first dual meet was exciting.
• Remember, all swimmers are asked to stay until the team scores are announced at the end of their meet.  It’s part of being a good teammate!

• All conference meet info for each dual meet can be found by clicking on the meet name on the Schroeder web-site.  Please read it over because there are many important reminders.

• Full details on the Conference Meet (5/29) have been posted, so please check them out!

• Red, Blue or White Team rosters have been emailed.  By now you should know which team your swimmer is on.  If not, please  Click on this link to find out.  Email Matt Miller ASAP if you see any mistakes or omissions.  Also keep in mind your swimmer may be on a different team than the one they were previously on.

• Schroeder Conference Meets are Thursdays in May:

5/15 = Blue vs. White Team  

5/22 = Red vs. White Team    Sign up by May 16

5/29 = Conference Championship/Red vs. Blue vs. White Teams

• May 15th Dual Meet:
• White vs. Blue Team at WSAC
• Warm-ups begin at 5:30 p.m., parent volunteer meeting at 5:40 p.m., meet starts at 6:00.  Swimmers should arrive at 5:15, check in with their coach (Red Team is Coach Ann White, White is Coach Matt Miller, Blue is Coach Wendy Frank), and be ready for the 5:30 warm-up.

1. Swimmers must commit or decline for each conference meet.  Swimmers only need to commit for the meets their team is scheduled for.

2. The deadline for the next conference dual meet (WHITE TEAM vs. RED TEAM) is Friday, May 16th.  You can sign up on TeamUnify.  BLUE TEAM members need not commit/decline for this meet.

3. Only swimmers who have committed to the meet will swim.  Swimmers who have not committed but still show up for the meet, will not participate.  There will be no deck entries the day of the meet.

4. Swimmers will receive their red, white or blue conference team cap at their first meet.  Caps will not be given out at practice.  Please put your swimmer’s name on the conference team cap.  Swimmers will only receive 1 cap.

Schroeder South

1. Practice Schedule Link: Schroeder South Practice Schedule

• The summer schedule has been posted, as an earlier email from Bob indicated.  Be aware there might be some slight changes because we are still waiting for final approval of our pool requests for Wilson Park.  Practice times might be moved back an hour, but the days will remain the same.
• Please make sure you check the schedule every week as there are variations week to week for each of the groups.
• For swimmers who are currently in the spring session, their last practice is the week of June 2nd.
• The summer session begins the second week of June, (the week of June 9th).  If you have questions, please email or talk to Coach Ann BEFORE OR AFTER practice.  See contact info/office hours in #7 of the newsletter)

• If practice is cancelled due to pool closure for any reason, the schedule will be updated immediately, and an email will be sent to each family.

2. Best Wishes to Coach Mark Kruse:

Unfortunately Coach Mark is leaving the program.  Living in West Bend and traveling through Milwaukee to the south side at rush hour proved difficult to say the least.  We appreciate Mark’s efforts and help in getting the spring session up and running.

3. Spring and Summer Coaches - Welcome Back Emily!

Coach Ann is now the lead coach for all 12 & Under groups (AG 1,2,3, Super8, Stars & SuperStars), so contact her regarding meet sign-up, practice, questions or concerns.  She likes questions!

Coach Michelle Herman will assist Ann with all of the groups now that her teaching duties are wrapping up at UW-Whitewater.

In addition to Michelle, there’s a familiar face who you’ll soon see on the deck.  Coach Emily Mattice will also be assisting this spring and summer.  Many of you know Emily because she coached with Ann through the fall of 2013.  This past year Emily completed her internships as an athletic trainer and her degree at Carroll College.  She graduated May 11th, and she now has some time to help out with the team.  Emily is planning on working for one year, and then will pursue a masters degree in her field.  Emily is currently the Swimming Lesson Coordinator for the Greendale Recreation Department, and she is a terrific liaison between our program and the rec department.

4. Upcoming Meet Info:  What follows is a review of upcoming meets and commitment deadlines; this does not include SST Conference Meets.  It’s a good idea to commit ASAP so you do not miss any deadlines.

• Pabst Farms Meet: 5/30-6/1 @ WSAC (This meet is for groups Sr1 & 2, Jr1 & 2, AG1, 2, and 3.)  Commitment deadline is 5/19
• Elmbrook 8 & Under: 6/6 @ Brookfield East HS (This meet is for all 8 & Under swimmers in AG 2, Super 8’s, and SuperStars.)  Commitment deadline is 5/20
• Waukesha Meet: 6/21-22 @ Waukesha South HS (This meet is for swimmers from all groups who are not participating in the WGLO Meet.)  Commitment deadline is 6/4
• WGLO Meet: 6/27-29 @ WSAC (This meet is for swimmers from all groups who have achieved qualifying times for the meet) Commitment deadline is 6/4

5. How to Sign Up for Meets:

Parents are reminded ALL SWIMMERS MUST COMMIT OR DECLINE by the entry deadline for each meet and ALL SWIMMERS are expected to participate in the meets listed for their group on the meet schedule.

To find out all you need to know about any particular meet go to the Schroeder home page and scroll down to the list of meets.  To review meet information on a particular meet, click on the name of the meet and follow the links.

To enter your swimmer in a meet, scroll down to the list of meets.  Click on “Edit Commitment” for the meet (enter password if necessary).  Then click on Undeclared Athletes, scroll to your swimmer’s name, click on the name, commit (put yes) in the declaration box, and click on the save changes box.  Once the swimmer is committed, you may choose the swimmer’s events or have the coach choose the events (recommended).

If your swimmer cannot attend, follow the previous steps and put no in the declaration box.  Please use the message box to explain why the swimmer is not participating.

When you’re all done, make sure you click on the save changes box.

6. Schroeder Conference Meets:

        The Schroeder Conference meets are for swimmers in AG 2, AG 3, Super 8’s, Schroeder Stars and Schroeder SuperStars.  If your swimmer is in this exciting program, please check the Schroeder Conference Info section weekly, written just above the Schroeder South section.

7. Spring Session Fee Payment:

All participating swimmers should have already paid for the session.  All invoices must be paid in full so we can allow your swimmer to continue to attend practice and meets.  Please mail a check payable to WSAC for your total due to Matt Miller, ℅ WSAC, 9240 N Green Bay Rd, Brown Deer, WI 53209, or give the check to Coach Bob or Coach Ann at your swimmer’s next practice.

If you have any questions regarding your fee payment, contact Coach Bob.  Thank you for your immediate attention to this.

8. SSTY South Office Hours

        Coaches Ann White and Bob White can usually be reached by phone Monday - Friday from 8:30-11:30 a.m.  You can also call us at the SSTY South office (414-897-8932).  Feel free to email us at:

9. Team Equipment Info:

Coach Ann will have Schroeder swim caps and fins at practice.  If you need to buy one, check with her before or after practice.

10. SSTY South Lost and Found @Greendale Pool:

When caps, goggles, suits or fins with no name are left at any of the pools we practice at, the coaches bring them to the Greendale Pool and put them near the team bulletin board.  Please check to see if they belong to your swimmer(s).  When Greendale Pool is closed for maintenance in May, we’ll go to “Plan B” :).
