A good song for me is an idea that keeps coming back, that I want to perform again and again. The places I visit, the faces that come and go, the ups and downs, the good the bad, life with love, without, some strange journey within, or shared with others. Around the age of 20, I made the choice to have a guitar around always, and I wandered around with songs. Recently, I've been living in the Czech Republic and other places in Europe
For every road travelled, there's a tune and Jamison Young has been round the block. From the early days in the snowy mountains, his treks around the outback or beating the streets of Melbourne and Sydney, Jamison has developed a solid and varied body of work.

The first job I got was working for a trader; I worked in a small hotel for a while, yet these jobs weren't for me. And so began years of wondering. I'd work for a while and then disappear into the vastness of it all and myself for bit, always keeping a guitar close. Cars breaking down in strange places and living on the financial edge; I figured I had to change, so I did. Since then I have produced an album with some good producers and moved to Europe.
I'm a singer songwriter that's been living in different parts of Europe and the world over the last years. Leaving Australia with a well produced album, i arrived in Europe with the plan to play the songs live and put the studio environment to rest...
By the time I figured out how to look, the look had gone, by the time I figured out what it should sound like, a new sound was here. The times of the past were a process, we live in a times now where we can express things in an instant. things have changed so so fast, somehow i am shy with what i want to say, maybe that explains me, maybe not.

Lifestyle: Basically vegetarian, no drink, drugs or smokes. I used to be kind of excessive, so i avoid toxic stuff where i can these days. Enjoy drinking tea and tea culture. Don't own car, enjoy using train tracks where i can. Buy just about everything i can second hand, like looking through junk shops, flea markets. I sometimes take a lot of random pictures, with both digital and analogue cameras, look at my flickr account. I want to live on a boat and sail away.
I do most things myself when it comes to the promotion of the tunes, i prefer to play in regional cities and smaller towns, places where the owner of the bar has a good connection with a bunch of people that might be interested in the tunes. I send posters and postcards to the venues with a date and time. I ask for the best conditions possible. I travel with all my own equipment and do my own sound, also I travel with a digital projector with images i create, if the mood is right I project images as I play. choice color: ocean blue ... please mail me with any questions.. jam@jamyoung.net

In 2004 I left Australia with a production recording to live in Europe. Arriving in Europe with relatively little live performance experience i set out to play as often as i could where ever i could. I do the best I can with what I have to get my tunes out and about. My goal is to stay with the flow and enjoy the ride. I license my production recording and photographs with a creative commons license.
