Jack-in-the-box, Jack-in-the-box (crouch down with arms crossed)
Sitting so still.

Way up high in an apple tree (point up with one hand)
Two red apples smiled at me (make a round “o” shape with each hand)
I shook that tree as hard as I could (put hands around an imaginary trunk & shake)

With ears so funny (use pointer fingers on sides of head to make bunny ears)
Here’s his hole in the ground (trace a circle on the floor in front of you with your finger)
A noise he hears
He perks up his ears (pointer fingers straight up on sides of head)
And jumps in his hole in the ground (jump ahead into your imaginary hole)

Choo Choo Name Game (sing to tune; sit with legs out in front of you as the tracks & use your pointer & middle fingers of each hand to be a train chugging down each leg. For the 1st line, slowly move your hand train toward your ankles, then slowly come back down your legs to your thighs. Each time insert a child or adult’s name, going around the circle, & continue the game until every child has been included)
Choo choo choo choo, choo, choo, choo, choo chugging down the track (touch your toes!)

First we stop at _____’s house, then we stop at ____’s house, then we stop at ____’s house, then we stop at ____’s house.

Let’s all clap it (clap out the syllables in the child’s name)
Repeat, going around the circle until all children have been named. Best with group of 20 or less, or kids lose focus after awhile.
Sing chorus of Jesus loves me, each time including another child’s name, going around the circle. Example: Yes, Jesus loves Evan / Yes, Jesus loves Anaya / Yes, Jesus loves Ben / The Bible tells me so. Continue until all children have been named.

Elevator Game:
Place 8 carpet squares together on the floor in the center of the room (or use foam squares). Tell the kids to get on the elevator (everyone finds a spot on the squares/rainbow). Have the kids pretend to push an imaginary button, make a cool elevator noise, and “ding!”, then announce which animal floor the kids are on. The kids then “get off” the elevator and move about the room, acting and making noises like the animal you named.
Animals: snake, monkey, sheep, dog, cat, bird, frog, lion, elephant, bunny, penguin, pig, horse, cow, etc.
