I am currently employed at Brush Studio, a locally owned and operated paint and sip establishment where customers create their own art as entertainment with guidance from experienced painters.

Foggy Bottom was a one of a kind locally owned and operated coffee shop in Dexter, Michigan.  I was hired at Foggy Bottom the summer after high school.  My responsibilities at the coffee shop quickly accumulated as my rapport with customers and co-workers grew.  Within a month of hire I was opening, closing and managing the shop.  I roasted coffee and served drinks and food to customers.  During my employment I was responsible for the chalk-board art advertising new items and specials.  I also assisted with Foggy Bottom’s charity fundraisers and community events.

VOLUNTEER WORK

Young Life Work Crew 2011

I volunteered at Timber Wolf Lake camp, part of the Christian youth organization Young Life.  I was assigned as a dining hall server and assisted in any other way I could for a month.

Vacation Bible School DUMC  2009, 2010, 2011, 2012

I worked at the Dexter United Methodist church for the religious education Vacation Bible School.  I worked as a crew leader’s assistant, as a crew leader, in the craft room and in the “Story-telling” room.

Service Over Self  2008, 2009

Service Over Self (S.O.S) is a non-profit organization in Memphis, Tennessee.  Volunteers work for a week helping to repair homes, in the neighborhood of Binghampton, for those in need.

Senior Survivor  2011

My senior year of high school I participated in a charity fundraiser modeled off of the tv show Survivor.  In 4 days of being locked in the high school the six pairs raised just under $10,000 to benefit the American Red Cross.

Grand Rapids Art Museum — 2014

I volunteered with elementary and middle school children during 2014’s Art Prize.  I assisted with arts and crafts based on the work of Salvador Jimenez Flores that was on display at the GRAM

Wyldlife Leader — 2010 - 2011

Wyldlife is the middle school counterpart of the high school youth group Young Life.  My junior and senior years of high school I was a leader at the biweekly Wyldlife meetings.  I was also a counselor for the four day summer camp stay at Timber Wolf Lake.

Varsity Wrestling — 2007 - 2011

Four year varsity letterwinner for the Dexter High School wrestling team.
