Web: Enabling Cookies and Pop-ups in Firefox Moodle ISU


Introduction

Turning Cookies on makes it easier for you to browse the web. Enabling pop-ups in your browser will allow legitimate pop-up functions to open in Moodle. Why is enabling cookies in a browser important?

This guide will help you to:

Enable Cookies in Firefox

  1. In the top right hand corner of the browser, Click Menu.

  1. Select Options.

  1. On the right side of the page, Select Privacy.

  1. From the Firefox will: dropdown menu, Select Use custom settings for history.

  1. Depending on your version of Firefox, once you select Use custom settings for history will automatically check Accept cookies from site, if not Check it.
  2. Check or uncheck Remember my browsing and download history and Remember search and form history as you prefer.

  1. Click OK to accept any changes.

Utilize the Pop-Up Blocker in Firefox

There are some functions in Moodle ISU that require that the pop-up blocker be turned off.

  1. In the top right corner of the browser window, Click Menu.
  2. From the Menu, Select Options.
  3. On the left hand side of the page, Click Content.

  1. If not already checked, Check Block pop-up windows.
  2. Click Exceptions.

  1. In the Address of website field, Type *.isu.edu
  2. Click Allow. The website will now be in the site menu/status area.

  1. Click Save Changes. The pop-up screen will disappear.

  1. Close the Options tab in your browser tabs.
