Taurus SC Termiticide/Insecticide
Always refer to the complete product label and MSDS for comprehensive instructions and safety information.
Key Points
- Restricted Use: Taurus SC is for sale to, use, and storage only by individuals/firms licensed or registered by the state to apply termiticide and/or general pest control products.
- Non-Repellent: Taurus SC is undetectable to pests, allowing them to contact, ingest, and spread it throughout their colony.
- Versatile Application: Can be used for pre- and post-construction termite treatment, as well as for various other pests.
Mixing Instructions
- Prepare Tank: Fill the tank 1/4 to 1/3 full with water. Ensure the filling hose has an anti-backflow device or an air gap to prevent back-siphoning.
- Start Agitation: Start the pump for bypass agitation and place the treating tool in the tank to allow circulation through the hose.
- Add Taurus SC: Add the correct amount of Taurus SC for the desired dilution (see below).
- Add Water: Add the remaining water to the tank.
- Ensure Dispersion: Run the pump until the Taurus SC is fully dispersed.
Dilution Rates
- 0.06%: 0.8 fluid ounces of Taurus SC per gallon of water (for typical prevention and control).
- 0.09%: 1.2 fluid ounces of Taurus SC per gallon of water (for severe infestations or problem soils).
- 0.125%: 1.6 fluid ounces of Taurus SC per gallon of water (for dense soil or difficult construction).
Application Methods
- Pre-Construction Termite Treatments:
- Apply to the entire area under the concrete slab at 1 to 1.5 gallons of finished dilution per 10 square feet.
- Treat around foundation walls, pillars, and other foundation elements at 4 gallons of finished dilution per 10 linear feet per foot of depth.
- Treat voids in hollow block foundations at 2 gallons of finished dilution per 10 linear feet of footing.
- Post-Construction Termite Treatments:
- Treat along the foundation perimeter by trenching and rodding, or trenching alone, at 4 gallons of finished dilution per 10 linear feet per foot of depth.
- Treat under slabs by sub-slab injection through vertical or horizontal drilling, spacing drill holes no more than 12 inches apart.
- Treat bath traps and shower drains with 1 to 4 gallons of finished dilution per square foot or drain.
- For inaccessible crawl spaces, treat by applying 1 gallon of finished dilution per 10 square feet of soil surface or by drilling through the foundation wall or floor and treating at the same rate.
- Post-Construction Exterior Perimeter/Localized Interior Treatments:
- Apply similar methods as post-construction treatments, but focus on the exterior perimeter and localized interior areas with termite activity.
- For posts, poles, and wooden landscape ornamentation, create a continuous treatment zone at 4 gallons of finished dilution per 10 linear feet per foot of depth.
- For above-ground termites and carpenter ants, treat voids and galleries in damaged wood, spaces between wooden structural members, and termite carton nests.
- For termites or carpenter ants in trees or nonstructural wood, treat by injection or by drenching or rodding around the base of the soil contact points.
- For drywood termites and wood-infesting beetles or borers, treat galleries in structural and nonstructural elements with foam, low-pressure spray, or mist.
- For carpenter bees, apply directly into gallery entrance holes.
