Model for Climate Change Standards 1 & 2

Create a model (concept map, diorama, video, etc) explaining the interconnections of climate change. Make sure to answer the following questions in your model and follow the rubric.

Create a model  (physical, digital, or images) to illustrate the following:

Exceeds (4)

Meets (3)

GCC Standard 1:  Use & develop a model to illustrate how photosynthesis transforms light energy into stored chemical energy and photosynthesis role in the cycling of carbon among the biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere. (LS1-5 & LS2-5)

Includes all conditions of Proficient as well as the following:

❑ Describes the greenhouse effect and how human actions can influence the process of the greenhouse effect

Describe two actions humans do that can change the carbon cycle

Create a single model includes all of the following:

❑ Explain the conversion of light energy into stored chemical energy by photosynthesis

❑  Describe how consumers help and participate in cycling of carbon in the environment

❑ Illustrate the (re)cycling of carbon through multiple parts of ecosystems  including carbon produced during photosynthesis

GCC Standard 2:  Evaluate the claims, evidence, and reasoning that interactions within ecosystems remain relatively stable, but changing conditions may result in a new ecosystem (LS2-6)

Includes all conditions of Proficient as well as the following:

❑  Compare and contrast how climate change affects at least two different locations in different ways and support with evidence.

Two MLA citations to support the identified changes

Includes all of the following:

Describe two human causes of global climate change

Describe how climate change affects various organisms in various ecosystems using at least one example
