The purpose of this list is to prevent issues before they occur, and to provide a sense of security for those who utilize the Carnivorous Plant Auctions and Sales USA Only Facebook group. As with any online transaction, always use discretion and common sense.

Caution List: Individuals who have demonstrated negligence in past transactions

• Lane Ross- (eBay: thomaros87, jungle_exotics78) a buyer who files unauthorized claims with his credit card company after winning auctions to scam his way out of paying for the item after he receives it. He has multiple eBay user names but utilizes the following address: 4391 Highway 66, Timbo, AR 72680
• Marty Guy- received payment for plant and never followed through with getting the plant to the customer
• Robert Jimenze- (email: rawwr712@gmail.com) listed flytraps for sale, accepted payment, and never shipped: https://goo.gl/QhM5X2 
• Steven Bloom- (eBay: satanasbeetles) strong evidence against him for knowingly selling a poached Nepenthes klossii on eBay
• Tyler McCoy- (FTC forum: Chipi3s, eBay: socalexotics, was exoticaplantz, IG: socal.exotics.sd) has misrepresented a plant’s origin in order to try to make a bigger profit, see link: http://goo.gl/wCcWEX 
• Brian Mitchell- manipulated Paypal’s purchase protection for an unjust refund after providing an undeliverable shipping address resulting in a dead plant and the seller without payment.

Paypal scammer who has taken advantage of several people, by either not sending plants he has received payment for; or sending small, unhealthy plants not matching the description he provided in the sales add.

• Travis Aaron Kotke- eBay: neps4lyfe_2 and peachyveitchii79

Aliases: Travis Aaron Jerry, VXL Tropicals, Mass Morels, Cannabliss Respawn

Responsible for many fraudulent transactions in the carnivorous plant and tarantula community:

How the scams usually proceed; pictures of plants for sale are posted by Travis, payment is sent by customer via PayPal. Travis delays shipment of plants with a variety of convincing excuses until the PayPal buyer protection window closes so a dispute cannot be opened to have the money refunded. Travis then cuts off all communication with the customer, leaving them without their money or plants.
