The DeWitt School District recently completed construction of the new DeWitt Middle School which opened for the 2016-17 school year. In an effort to be more energy efficient, the Administration and School Board collaborated with Lewis Architects and CenterPoint Energy to take advantage of the energy efficiency rebate program offered by CenterPoint Energy.
As a result of those efforts, the DeWitt School District received a rebate of $10,200 from CenterPoint Energy for the installation of 16 high-efficiency natural gas furnaces and two tankless water heaters. In addition to the rebate incentives, DeWitt School District is expected to save 2,323 therms of natural gas annually, resulting in a yearly cost savings of $1,900.
