The Sioux Family

The women’s jobs were looking after the kids, making the clothes, cooking the dinner, and looking after the tepees.

When a woman married a man, the man would kill a buffalo, take the skin and give it to the women and the women would make the tepee out of the skin.

If tepees were all in a big circle, the children could go out and play inside the big circle of tepees and be safe.

If a kid was very, very naughty he or she would be brought out in front of the

neighbours and would be given an embarrassing nickname for his or her life.

Little boys learned how to hunt at the age of ten

Some men got their jobs by something they were good at for example Crazy Horse. Some were warriors.

Men that caught animals would dry out the meat to it save for a long time.

There was one medicine person in every tepee.
