COMMON F.A.Q.

                   FEAT

  1. Can it be used in the rain?
  1. Yes. The cover is water resistant just like the stock seat cover
  2. The gel and foam don't get react to water exposure
  3. But the SofaRider™ Strap On seat should be hanged to dry at the end of the day/ride. This will prevent any moulding or bacterial formation
  1. How to care for the product?
  1. The product can be hand washed carefully in cold water with mild soap (car shampoo)
  2. Do not machine wash or beat to clean
  1. Does the gel melt due to engine heat?
  1. The gel is semi solid and can withstand temperatures up to 55'C
  2. It does not melt or leak, but some oil may be released in its early life
  1. Is it really comfortable?
  1. Oh yeah! It makes a difference on those long rides
  2. Sometimes the gel seat may feel wooden after prolonged use (continuous use for 2-3 hours or more), which is normal and can be remedied by slight shift in position of the rider. Shifting weight allows the gel to recover its structure
  3. 85% riders reported greatly improved comfort
  4. 10% riders reported only slightly improved comfort
  5. 5% riders reported improved comfort, but were still in pain after long riders. These riders may need specialized products available in the US market, or may need to see a specialist health consultant to identify and resolve any root cause
  1. What is the life of the seat?
  1. The gel has a design life of 7 years and foam has 6 years. Near to this age, both materials will start to deteriorate. Exposure to UV rays (from natural sunlight) will accelerate deterioration
  2. The Strap On seat can be expected to last anywhere from 4 to 5 years depending on care and usage
  3. The Modified seat can be expected to last anywhere from 3 to 4 years depending on care and usage
