Special Education

8th - 9th Grades

1.  After reading a passage, students will analyze and evaluate information to answer inferential questions.  they will be able to cite evidence from a passage to support and develop a logical argument.  the student will be able to determine cause and effect in real life (social) situations and predict outcomes.

2.  Students will formulate strategies for studying and taking different styles of tests.  they will summarize when taking notes and use outlines, graphic organizers, and other tools when preparing to write a paper or take a test.

3.  Students will arrange information from classes on a calendar.  They will determine the system for organizing school work that helps them be successful.  they will apply time management skills when planning activities.

4.  Students will listen and apply strategies to become more mindful of the environment in school and in the classroom.

5.  Students will adapt their behavior when situations don’t go as planned.

6.  Students will generalize these skills across various settings.  they will also learn techniques to become self-advocates.  

These are our BELS - We are working to develop evidence and rubrics to measure each of the above standards.
