Lecture goals

The goals of this lecture are to give the students a culture allowing them to understand the issues of the IS security within the company and to implement mechanisms and organizations necessary to the reduction of the incurred risks.

Detailed outline

Introduction : history of IS security, panorama of cybercrime, notion of risk, best practice.

Cryptology : symmetric-key algorithm, asymmetric-key algorithm, electronic certificates and public key infrastructure, encryption hybrid mechanisms and TLS implementation.

Network and services security : VPN, firewall, proxy server, honey pot, intrusion detection systems, authentication, backup, redundancy, …

Web services security : study of the main risks bound to the Web, Web services security mechanisms.

Usage

Implementation of free tools of the domain : audit and intrusion

IS security organization : ISO 27001 family standards, risk assessment, information security management system.

Applications

Laboratory sessions : cryptography, network security, web security, audit and intrusion tools, risk assessment.

Acquired skills

After this lecture, the student will be able to understand the risks incurred by information systems and to identify them.
