- Cut strings to match the length of each dog and compare the strings, or measure the dog using snap cubes trains.
- Repeat with with the beds shown on the chart.
- Have volunteers match the string length or snap cubes train for each dog to bed.
- Ask: Which string or nap cube train did you use? Why?
- Place three classroom item on a table.
- Demonstrate comparing the length of the objects and arrange them in order from shortest to longest.
- Pair the children.
- Distribute bags with three item inside.
- Have the partners examine the objects in their bags in order from shortest to longest.
