Intro: Welcome to For Azeroth!
What We’re Up To
- Finally flying, time for alts! I mean farming. I mean fishing artifact weapon!
- GYCT is 9/10 on Heroic!
- Children’s Week in WoW, so it’s PvP time
- Anduin Cinematic (and more Horde story incoming)
- There was a live Q&A with Ion I think is worth discussing
- Why is 7.2 called a big patch when it feels so small?
- “There is a lot of Legion content which is class/spec specific - 12 class campaigns, 7 artifact campaigns, etc. A lot of resources went into that for this patch - which means players don't see a lot of the other work if they only play 1 class.”
- “there is a lot of content but most of it is class specific content that you might not see. A lot of, for example, voice lines were recorded for 7.2 - more than for some expansion releases! But yes, only seeing a slice of it makes it seem like there is less to do. We always want to hear what more you want, so give us feedback. We are trying to improve the content cadence and we'd love to hear more about what you're looking for and what your expectations are with big patches. Sometimes when there's so much to do, it's unclear as to what you should be doing first.”
- What’s with the time gating?
- With the Outland Dungeon Timewalking Event you'll be able to do Black Temple Timewalking. Ideally, every Timewalking event will have a raid associated with it eventually.

Lore
Shaman Order Hall
The Elemental Lords, once protectors of Azeroth who were enslaved by the Black Empire, banished by the Titans, and helped or hindered by champions of the Horde and Alliance are back in the spotlight. The shamanistic powers of the mortal races will need to tame the elements in order to battle the Legion.
- The survivors of the Broken Shore have made their way to the Maelstrom, and are revitalized by the actions of a shaman hero just before the Legion attacks their camp
- As Thrall battles the commander, the elements fail to heed his call, and the demon Geth’xun mocks him, saying he fights like a crippled pig
- Thrall falls before the demon, but is saved by the collective actions of the Earthen Ring, who defeat the demon with one collective blow
- The power of the Doomhammer no longer responds to Thrall after the events on Draenor, when Thrall used Doomhammer and the power of the elements to slay Garrosh, against the laws of the sacred mak'gora (similar to how Gul’dan killed Durotan in the Warcraft movie. Magic is a no-no unless it is your specified weapon)
- Thrall gives up the weapon, and control of the Earthen Ring, to a worthy shaman champion
- Nobundo, a Broken shaman from Outland, explains that the first Farseer of the Earthen Ring had a vision long ago that fortold the arrival of a new Farseer who would lead the Earthen Ring through a time of crisis and unite the elements once more
- The new leader of the Earthen Ring is thought to be the prophesied Farseer, and so leads a ritual to contact Neptulon the Tidehunter, the first of the four elemental lords, who has been able to free himself from the clutches of Ozumat after being captured during the events surrounding the Cataclysm
- Neptulon answers the call of the ritual, but is already aware of the threat posed by the Burning Legion, and advises the shamans to make good use of the little time they have left, scoffing at the idea of unity among the elemental lords, but does concede that there was a time long ago when the elemental lords fought as one, and so decides to join the fight
- The second elemental will not be so easy, as Al’akir the Windlord was destroyed during the Cataclysm, and so a power vacuum has sprung up in his wake
- Representatives of the Earthen Ring head to Skywall, where they are told the air kingdom is in turmoil, but there may be one powerful air elemental who will aid in the battle against the Legion
- Prince Thunderaan, once heir to the Throne of Four Winds (the air elemental kingdom), was long ago ambushed and imprisoned in a talisman by Ragnaros. Ragnaros then split the talisman in two and gave the two halves to his lieutenants for safekeeping. Unfortunately for Rag, his lieutenants were slain in the Molten Core, and mortal champions were able to summon Prince Thunderaan from his prison
- Prince Thunderaan’s soul empowered a weapon that is now being wielded by an unknown party, who needs to be located so that the prince can be restored to his rightful place as the air elemental lord
- The betrayer who stole the sword is conveniently fighting demons on the Broken Isles. After tracking him down in Aszuna and finding him dead, the Farseer is able to recover Thunderfury, though it is damaged
- The Farseer rushes the sword to the Vortex Pinnacle, hoping to restore the prince before his essence is lost for good. Vortos holds the key to restoring Prince Thunderaan, but has no interest in restoring a Windlord to Skywall, and so must be defeated in order to obtain the Heart of Skywall
- With the Heart of Skywall, Thunderfury is restored, allowing Prince Thunderaan to return and pledge the might of the air elemental kingdom to the fight against the Burning Legion (works out well that he’s not too angry about the whole using his soul to empower a sword thing)
- Not everyone is happy about Thunderaan’s return, and so the Earthen Ring needs to help bring the kingdom under control, which works out well because many air essences are required to power up the Maelstrom Pillar, and murdering your allies never goes over well
- The air essences, along with the Sceptre of Storms wielded by Queen Azshara’s lieutenant Lady Hatecoil, allow the Earthen Ring to empower the pillar, strengthening their champions
- The third elemental lord, Therazane the Stonemother, is next on the list of allies for the shaman, but she hasn’t been responding, and the Earthen Ring worries that she may require aid
- After sending champions to Deepholm to investigate, the Earthen Ring discovers that the Twilight’s Hammer is laying siege to Deepholm, and Therazane will not help fight the Burning Legion while her home is threatened
- Side note: Twilight’s Hammer comes up often in Warcraft Lore. They are a cult who wish to bring about the end of the world. Their methods change, but they are often at odds with the Alliance, the Horde, and anyone else on Azeroth who doesn’t want that to happen
- The Twilight’s Hammer, once scattered and leaderless due to their many defeats in the past, have found a new leader who is harnessing the void, able to bend the will of the elements to her own
- While disrupting the rituals, the Farseer discovers Twilight whelps, part of a dragonflight that feeds on magical energy and was thought to be extinct
- The new head of the Twilight’s Hammer turns out to be none other than a broodmother named Zeryxia, who is defeated by the Farseer alongside Muln Earthfury
- Following the defeat of the leader of the Twilight’s Hammer, Therazane pledges her aid to the Earthen Ring against the Legion
- With three of the four elements united against the Legion, the time has come to return to the Firelands. Ragnaros has been vanquished, but a new firelord has risen in his stead, as the primal powers of fire can never truly die.
- The Firelands are embroiled in war. Two raging factions vie for control. Of the two leaders, Lord Smolderon hates mortals a little less than Pyroth, so the Earthen Ring decides to approach him and offer aid defeating his rival, hoping for his aid in return
- In order to be granted an audience with Lord Smolderon, the Earthen Ring must slay Pyroth (the son of Rhyolith, boss from Firelands, one of the oldest elementals in existence and tasked with the creation of new fire elementals) and his champions. Others will fall in line as there is nothing more humiliating than being slain by a mortal
- With Pyroth’s core in hand, the Earthen Ring is granted their audience with Lord Smolderon, who turns down their request for aid, stating the power of the Firelands must be earned
- Lord Smolderon sends the Farseer to claim Emberscar, a weapon of power beyond mortal comprehension that can only be wielded by a Firelord, in his name
- To claim the weapon, the Farseer has to defeat Garixxia, the Cinderweb Matriarch
- Firelord Smolderon is pleased with the Earthen Ring for silencing his enemies and providing him with the Emberscar weapon, and so pledges his allegiance to the Earthen Ring’s fight against the Legion
- With the might of the Firelands on our side, all of the elements have been united
- The elemental spirits have watched the new Farseer unite the elements using their legendary weapon, and so show Farseer Nobundo how to further unlock its power

So, this may spark an interesting talk... I just purchased the crafted legendary Vigilance Perch for a whopping fifteen thousand gold. They usually sell for at least ten times that. What would you do? Keep it, sell it, or try to return it somehow?
The seller is a Dwarf hunter, and the buying character is an Orc rogue.
Thanks! FAZ on!
Nardaa the Outlaw Rogue
Hey Jocelyn and Garrett,
I had some thoughts about Sargeras and where the story of WoW may be going. Sargeras was originally trying to save the universe when he destroyed the planet that was corrupted. My theorycrafting is that he used his last bit of goodness to show Illidan the way to cleanse his horrific creation.
We have to deal with Sargeras somehow during Legion in order to move the story along. The idea Joce keeps saying is a "cleansing" since we can't beat a Titan. Azeroth is basically the center of the universe for one reason. "She", the World Soul sleeping inside our planet, has been talked about as possibly the strongest of all in some lore. We aren't really that important but our planet is. Azeroth the World Soul has empowered the races that evolved here (think Elves, Trolls, Humans, etc…) or "pulled" races that were not from here to her (think Orcs and Draenei) that had the skills and power to help with the true battle to come.
If this is in fact true and we are to face and possibly "cleanse" Sargeras, I think Sargeras will say something like “I'm not the true evil. My goal has ever been to cleanse the universe of The Void’s corruption. I intend to fight for order in the universe with Azeroth by my side.” At this point, Sargeras will aid us in waking the World Soul within our planet and somehow keep us all alive (since we will have the ability to travel in space now). Without a sleeping Azeroth to corrupt, the Void Lords will come out of hiding and looking to finish their goal.
Hence an Old Gods Expansion where we alongside 2 Titans, the Army of Light, the Lich King (or Queen), and every other good, bad or indifferent faction, will attempt to destroy The Old Gods once and for all. This leads into a Void Lord Expansion where our combined forces go to take the fight to the one true evil that was always present. Then to come full circle and take Garrett to Star Wars land we will all go back to a Truly Peaceful home planet and after brief "Sigh of Relief" some Dirty Alliance will stir the pot and we will have a 4th War between Horde and Alliance to finally end the story.
Like Joce stated, we have seen many people fall from power to corruption and then just be killed. When dealing with a corrupted Titan this becomes a "LARGER" issue. I truly think that he, like Illidan, will end up revealing that he is just misunderstood and that his true intentions were not to kill us but the Old Gods, so that he could save and wake Azeroth to eventually fight the Void Lords and truly cleanse the universe of their corruption.
