Bridge Unit 131 Board of Directors
Meeting Summary
July 10th, 2024, at Bridge Studio
Participants: Alan Hierseman, Aline Zimmer, Barbara Waldron, Chad Fisher, Hong Chen, Jana Larsen, Jill Ferrel, Lynne Wenski, Marjory Rion, Marlin Rueb, Paul Pressly, Shawn Tate, Trisha Pitts
The meeting was called to order at 3:15 PM by Hong.
Introductions
Minutes of prior meeting:
- Minutes of the prior meeting were approved by email.
- Tournaments – Alan
- Flyer for Regional Holiday tournament is final and is on the Website and studio bulletin board.
- A big “Thanks” to Paul & Aline for all their hard work with “Naming Games”.
- NAP will be in Wichita this year.
- Membership and Education Committee - Barbara
- Looking for ways to brin in new players.
- Another “4 is enough” game is in the planning stage. Joan has volunteered to be the director. Looking at late August or September.
- I was suggested that we hold an additional sectional; maybe on a Sunday for 0-300 players.
- Shawn will investigate it.
- New Business
- Hong asked for volunteers to take over the Web Master and ACBL Electronic Contact positions for him and an IN Coordinator to replace Tom.
- Chad volunteered to be the new Web Master. He will also look into social media marketing.
- Alan & Aline volunteered to be the ACBL Electronic Contact.
- Shawn volunteered to be the new IN Coordinator.
- The subject of cost for storage was brought up. Shawn will investigate other places that cost less.
- It was decided that instead of publishing the board meeting minutes in the Declarer, that an article about the Unit’s web site be included.
- Finance Committee Report - Trisha
- Trisha handed out a proposed chart of accounts for QuickBooks. Asked for input from everyone. How much detail do we need/ Are we tracking Free Plays? Do we need to account for assets? Please mail responses to Trisha Pitts @ 7318 Washington St, KCMO 64114.
- Trisha asked to see bank card usage detail.
- It was decided to start with the lowest version of QuickBooks and then determine if we need a higher version. The next higher version will be twice as expensive.
The next Board meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, September 11th at 3:15or right after the Studio session that day.
