One of my Teammates, my brother, my Football family 15 year old Leon Flannigan he suffered horribly when hurricane Sandy struck Midland Beach. He was hit by direct impact and house was ruined. Everyone was worried. We are grateful that he and his family didn’t get injured or severely hurt. He is an ambitious person because after Hurricane Sandy hit he still attended school and football practice. After the Tragedy that happened he remained focused although his house was destroyed. He still has Items that he is trying to go and find. When he spoke about his house he spoke about it in a calm manner. He spoke about as if it hasn't happened.

             Us as a football team are there for him. We are willing to help him with anything and are donating things to him that he possibly lost and needed. So far he only needs basic things like school supplies I’m helping out with that. After the Tragedy he attended Community Service clean Curtis High school and help give away foods and clothes.  He completed 3 hours of community service and 2 and a half hours of practice the day after he lost his house. Leon stayed strong held his head high and thought positive.

For now he’s living with his grandmother and replacing items he needs with money.

              As we provided him with things he needed he was grateful wasn't picky or anything of that nature. Now he's more focused with his grades and football. With this sad story it taught me a lesson. Be prepared, Grateful and Giving. With this story i'm learning to be a stronger person and focus on the positive things in life.
