Brilliant No Prep Sub Plan

1. 10 minute freewrite

1. Students use scrap paper or lined paper.
2. Ask a student to be a timer if you don’t have a stopwatch.  
3. Students begin by writing a 10-minute timed free write.   They may write about anything as long as they write for the whole ten minutes in Spanish.  They may not use dictionaries or ask for words from you.  

2. Groups and Illustration

1. Students form groups of 3-4.
2. Each student reads his/her story to the others in the group.
3. The group picks their favorite story and illustrates it in 3-4 scenes.

3. Presentations

1.  Each group then presents their story to the class.
2. Each student in the group presents one of scenes and reads it in Spanish with the illustration.

4. If you have any time left over, students may read from their free choice Spanish book.

1. Pick  one or two books.
2. Stay in one spot.
3. Read the whole time.
