I was playing my Reno Dreadsteed deck and loving every game of it. I came up against a priest and throughout the game he played 2 Thoughtsteals and 2 Mind Visions. On the turn after i got my first Dreadsteed out he played Cabal and took him over. Later in the game i got my second steed only to have him mind controlled (yes the 10 mana Mind Control card ...) . the next turn he proceeded to drop Baron Rivendare (obtained from thoughtsteal) and make 4 Dreadsteeds. The turn after that he was able to play Malganis (also obtained from Thoughtsteal) and beat me with my own deck, the first thing i did was make sure i was not playing against Dills (i wasn't) but i knew that this was a TAC fan because ... Friends ... i was Milkshaked.

Recently one of my contacts was excitedly showing me his fully built Renolock deck going against a Druid player. He invited me to spectate and I watched as he basically destroyed someone who was still running basic cards like Dragonling Mechanic. I asked him why he was playing at rank 20 at the end of the season with a deck that polished and he basically revealed that he was farming gold. He intentionally loses games to stay at rank 20 and blow out new players.
We kept talking and he explained that in order to hit his gold cap for the day he needed to be winning games more frequently, so playing with a 50% win ratio because he conceded half his games and won most of the games he put any effort into helped him save up more for adventures, and this was actually easier to him than queuing in casual or tavern brawl.
I'm not a fan of this practice as it seems to me to be basically bullying players at low ranks and negatively affecting their experience, but it occurs to me that someone new to the game might actually enjoy facing a well polished deck and opponent every once in awhile.

Happy feast of winterveil!
I've notice with the addition of more cards we are still left with one maybe two non-class specific tech cards. For example two silence cards still, one type of BGH, one secret stealer, etc. Do you think they should or would add more options down the road for tech cards on different card health/attack bodies?

Hey peeps on varying emotional spectrums,
My former roommate and I decided that December was the month to try-hard on the ladder. Typically I get to rank 20 to get my card back and do whatever else I want the rest of the month, and doing daily quests I "accidentally" get to 15 without really trying hard. I figured I'd get to about 10 and not be able to progress further.
HOWEVER, this has not been the case. I am getting my angry chicken butt handed to me at rank 20. I'm at about a 50% winrate, using a deck I'm very familiar with, the ramp druid. I've been playing since the beta, have a background in Magic and WoWTCG, and have never had this much trouble getting out of rank 20.
Do you think laddering is harder now than it was before, or is it time for me to admit that I'm not as good at card games as I previously thought?
PS: Did you know that in Heroes of the Storm ETC is voiced by our very own Ben Brode? I learned that this week. MIND BLOWN.
Thanks, love the show!
