Tuesday[1]

My dearest Lu,

Yrs just came – I hasten to send a line – you should get a letter from me today – yrs was written yesterday – good going!.....So dear Pat is engaged to that charming girl[2] – Gracie met her in Switzerland & admired & liked her so much –

I expect Lord G (Greenwood)[3] will come round – he will have to – as they want to marry soon – he should be thankful  to get a son-in-law like Pat –

Dearest Lu. How I wish you could come to us – but no one is allowed in here – However you have that good Hotel to fall back on till you get your maids? – its bad luck all this coming this bad week – so Peggy is expecting – I trust all will come off well with her – she will be well cared for by Joey –

We had a [illegible?] last night but not a long one – 2 hours – nothing happened

here – a wild storm in night – & one of the windows in the top floor was blown out on the lawn – it was stupidly left open – storm is still going on – it will delay that blackguard’s invasion !! so I trust it will rage all the night – I keep wonderfully well – sleep a bit in afternoons – I am surprised at myself & dear L is so sane & calm She looks after our [illegible words] in the afternoons which is good for her & keeps her in the air – we only go out early in the mornings –

I pray for you every day dearest – may you be kept in safety & the dear boys.

Please send Pats address – I want to write to him.

Lovingly

Paul
