Dear Palisades fans,
First off, no, your eyes have not deceived you. Palisades Toys really is back, not necessarily in full swing, at least not yet, but we are back and will resume producing licensed toys and adult collectibles in 2019. This long wait is to ensure we have the facilities and tools necessary to ensure our new products meet or exceed the quality of past Palisades products, and so that we can provide an unparalleled experience throughout all of our products.
Now, a lot of fans might think this whole thing is a scam or joke to attract hype. This is not true. At this time, Palisades is in the process of acquiring several former licenses that made the original Palisades so great, including Transformers, Sesame Street, and more. However, not all licenses will be returning, such as Alien, Ren & Stimpy, Invader Zim, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and others.
Despite this, we are proud to continue the production of Palisades products and continue the heritage of this amazing company, that will be turning 30 in 2024.
However, we need to look forward to the future, and bring new and exciting products to the market, products that have never been seen before, and could only come from a company as devoted and open to ideas as Palisades.
That is where our new chapter shall unfold.
Palisades Timeline 2018-2021:
In 2018, Palisades will search locally for a manufacturing plant, and will remain headquartered in my home state of Massachusetts. From there we will take the design concepts and prototypes made between Q4 ‘17 and the opening of our headquarters, and begin producing the first products, testing them along the way using our new set of standards, which must be met in order to leave the factory doors.
In 2019, the very first line of new Palisades products will be released; Palisades’ first ever original franchise, founder Nicholas Tobolski’s Minutemen. The series is centered around the current Minutemen, Harper Lee Jackson and his robot companion, Amy, as they fight to defeat the tyrannical Von Nebulus and his evil Silencer army, and save the universe. The toyline will be introduced in Q3 2019 (if all goes according to plan), and will be divided into numerous classes based on size and complexity.
These classes will be:
-Basic ($6.99 USD): 6 inch figures with articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, thighs, and knees. Wave 1 will consist of Harper, Amy, Von Nebulus, and Stryker.
-Deluxe ($12.99 USD): 8 inch figures with more detail and articulation: neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, thighs, knees, and feet. Wave 1 will consist of Harper, Amy, as well as converting (transforming) versions of Von Nebulus, and Stryker.
-Mega ($19.99-24.99 USD): 12 inch figures which have more complex conversions, better details, and more posability. Wave 1 TBA.
-Quantum ($39.99-69.99 USD): 16 inch figures with extreme amounts of detail, very complex conversions, and effect parts for added display purposes. Wave 1 TBA.
All figures will include a booklet with instructions as well as a bio and background information to help ease newcomers into the series.
They will be available at some major brick-and-mortar retailers, and we are planning them to be available on Amazon and other online retailers, like BigBadToyStore. An animated series is also in development and will be released alongside the toyline.
More information on this series will be announced as it becomes finalized.
In 2020, if we are able to obtain the licensing rights, Palisades will reintroduce our beloved Sesame Street range of adult collectibles. Many of the unreleased figures will finally be released with a newer joint system to increase durability in the long term.
Palisades will also embark on our 2020 Palisades Tour. This means we will have an assortment of new figures on display, as well as exclusives for the tour. However, rather than have exclusives for only one convention (i.e. Comic-Con, TFNation, etc.), we will travel to multiple conventions (as many as we can), and meet with fans as we usher in the new series of figures for that year. 2020’s Tour exclusive will be a redesigned version of the beloved and highly sought after 2005 exclusive, Sesame Street’s Super Grover! About 100 copies of Super Grover will be sent to numerous Palisades fans and YouTube reviewers.
We will also be introducing a brand new, high-end collector series known as PalisadesPremier. These releases will come in collector-friendly packaging with foam inserts to protect the figure inside, and eachfigure will have a limited number of units released, 2020’s PalisadesPremier release will be an 18 inch figurine of Minutemen’s Harper Lee Jackson, with about 25 accessories, and a display stand. It is estimated to cost about $299 USD, and is limited to 1,000 units.
Then in 2021, we will really kick things up and add another, lesser-known license to our roster. In 2021, Palisades and Hasbro will unite with a wide range of TRANSFORMERS licensed figures and statues, ranging from Generation One, all the way to the Michael Bay films. All Palisades TRANSFORMERS products will feature either plastic or polystone construction, incredible amounts of sculpted detail, and many references to their respective series/film. All TRANSFORMERS products are 100% Authentic and are made under Hasbro’s license. They will be available on BigBadToyStore, as well as other websites that stock licensed and third party TRANSFORMERS products.
We will also embark on the 2021 Palisades Tour, and showcase figures from Wave 3 of Minutemen, and Wave 2 of Sesame Street. The 2021 Tour exclusive will be the TRANSFORMERS Generation One Optimus Prime figure. We will also be showcasing our next PalisadesPremier offering (TBA).
I understand that was a lot to take in, but we want you to be in the know on everything that’s going on here at Palisades. As always, you are more than just a number to us. To us, you are like family, and it has always been, and always will be, our mission to provide you with excellent quality products, and to have fans decide on what they want to see from Palisades.
To everyone who has stuck with us during our early stages, thank you all. You have truly floored me with your excitement and support for this wonderful milestone. To all the Palisades fans who have stuck around since the very beginning in 1994, you are truly in for a wild ride as we continue the dream that the original Palisades stood for, and we look forward to your continued support in the future.
For now, I must end this letter, as a lot of work needs to be done. However, stay tuned to our socials such as Facebook (@PalisadesToysLLC) and Twitter (@PalisadesToys). A lot more is on the horizon as we start a new chapter in the nearly 30 years of Palisades’ existence, and I hope that the legacy of Palisades will continue for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Alexander Tobolski
