Bridge of Faith African Crafts
Bridge of Faith collects used books, children’s clothing, and other items no longer needed in the US and sends them to Awka, Nigeria, to be used by schools, orphanages, and other social service agencies there. It also provides new school supplies, medicines, mosquito nets, and food to these organizations. It raises funds by selling crafts from Africa and other developing areas, many of which are made with recycled or upcycled materials. Products for sale are made from recycled paper, glass, aluminum cans, scrap metal and wire, fabric scraps, flip-flops, inner tubes and tire cords, candy wrappers, juice boxes, water bags and more. Bridge of Faith is a project of Faith United Church of Christ in Union, NJ, and the First Congregational Church of Verona, NJ.
