Calamitous News’ Final “War” Article
The Calamitous Conflict was a catastrophic cataclysm that clashed r/CalamityMod into complete chaos. The war sprung from the aftermath of Fabsol’s eviction from the Calamity Staff team; the resultant power vacuum that followed was merely the beginnings of this calamity. But what exactly unfolded during the events? This intriguing historical time capsule will tell the events of the Calamitous Conflict as they happened. Great for people that were unaware of the calamity during the time it ravaged the subreddit, or those who are looking to reexamine it at a future date.

Full Name: Disgusting Creature, Dron
Likes: happiness (allegedly), dancing, building robots
Name of adherents: Dronists
Disgusting Creature, Dron, or better known simply as Dron, is Draedon without his body. He had already been known prior to the Fabsol Event, but was a very niche and rare sighting barely glimpsed outside the Fandom Wiki, his birthplace. However, when Fabsol was defeated, a post went up detailing how Dron should replace Fabsol as head staff of Calamity Mod, propelling him into stardom.
According to Dron’s AMA, Dron’s moniker as “disgusting creature” is meant to be ironic, as he is actually widely considered a “beautiful creature” by those who answer to him. Dron built the EO mechs, bodily-removed versions of the Exo Mechs. Dron has great Wi-Fi, his favorite video game is Mario Teaches Typing, and he was bothered by the war despite his emissaries continuing to fight.
Full Name: Peculiar Beast, Yhon
Likes: Singing Roar of the Jgl Dgn, fluffing his feathers, the Drolly
Name of adherents: Yhonites
Yhon, much like Dron, is a Calamity character without the body. This time, however, the character in question is Yharon. Yhon first arose in a post lamenting Dron’s alleged propagandic nature, citing benefits of joining Yhon, the most important being free Estrogen and faster release of the video game Hollow Knight:Silksong.
According to Yhon’s AMA, Yhon holds power over fire, rebirth and chicken nuggets, is trained in Taekwondo, has incredibly floofy feathers, and can ward off Fabsols. His most defining attribute, however, is his alleged ability to produce infinite amounts of Estrogen, Testosterone and secret Androgynous Pills. According to Dron’s AMA, Yhon has bad Wi-Fi as he lives in a Jungle Temple.
After the initial Yhon post went up, art and memes began to emerge surrounding the draconic creature. In response, shock and outrage spread among fans of Dron (the term “Dronist” had not been coined yet). To debunk Yhon’s claim of producing Estrogen, a post went up claiming that Yhon was a creation of Fanny the Flame absorbing DNA from Yhim (Yharim), Sisy Pime (Sisyphus Prime, from the game ULTRAKILL) and Testosterone, creating Yhon, who would seemingly produce Estrogen but actually produced Testosterone. Yhonites, outraged, chastised the Drons for their propaganda video. In retaliation, the Dronists declared war, creating a three-phased battle format. The format would begin with two AMAs, followed by a vote and then finally a video on the all-out-brawl.
In addition to Yhon and Dron, more parties emerged:
-Cralon (Crabulon), who sought to abdicate from the war, instead watching from the sidelines.
-Yhim (Yharim) whose stance was that both Yhon and Dron pissed in their Estrogen, and as such, would lead a crusade against them.
-Calas (Calamitas) who was primarily not involved in the war, though did pull up occasionally for antics. Her backstory was that she was the donor for Deviantt (a Fargo’s Mod character)’s legs. Throughout the conflict’s events, it was rumored that she was plotting something.
-Cnidrion, which prided itself as the “superior” faction. This did not end up seeing much support.
Cralon, Yhim, Calas and Cnidrion
Along with the new characters, a newspaper was also created chronicling the current events of the war, with a slight bias for Yhon. The newspaper was released daily. The Calamitous newspaper went on to chronicle other news of the Calamity Mod subreddit, not just the Calamitous Creature war - even after the war had long ended.
As both sides continued to broadcast their message into the larger r/CalamityMod community, the community began to become overrun with these sorts of posts. People in the comment sections would often be oblivious of the ridiculous nature of the conflict.
The second major event, chronologically, was the mass recruitment of both Terraria characters and characters from the veritable spiderweb of fandoms Calamity Mod players were involved in, from Ultrakill to Undertale to Hollow Knight to the Avengers. The first “recruitment” post was a post from the Yhonites recruiting the Derer of Gos (Devourer of Gods). In retaliation, the Drons deployed 500-TR-Earver (Earthmover from ULTRAKILL) Following that, posts popped up recruiting characters such as Cnon (Cnidiron) Province (Providence) Province 2(Providence from Risk of Rain) Flan (Flandre Scarlet from Touhou Project) Ness Dety (Nameless Deity), Skong (Hornet from Hollow Knight), John Celeste (Madeline from Celeste), and many others.
The most controversial addition to the Dron faction was the Mon Lod (Moon Lord) which had not been Photoshopped in any way to distort it, leading to the Drons rejecting it and calling it a failure. This allowed the Yhons to show off the Drons’ misinformation-spreading tactics. Following that post, the Moord was instead recruited to the Yhons. An apology was issued from the Drons regarding the Moord situation.
(Note the typo in the second newsflash - Dronites should be Dronists)
A full tier list of all bosses and where they stood at this point in time can be seen here:
The Ness Dety (Nameless Deity) was intended to be a true-neutral observer in the lore of Wrath of the Gods (the Calamity addon which it hails from); however, it joined the side of the Yhons following alleged impurity from the Drons. Many Dronists were quick to call this out. In the end, Ness Dety left the Yhonites after Cralon offered it a very delicious cookie to remain neutral.
The character Gu (Goku) was meant to be the Drons’ largest asset, easily powerscaling to Multiversal, easily beating even the Derer of Gos and the Avengers. However, Gu left the Dronist alliance after getting bored and just wanting his trans friends to get proper hormones. Some Dronists assert that Gu was still with them and this was merely a different version of Gu.
Music was also beginning to be made for the Calamitous Conflict prior to this time. The music would be split into three parts and used for the final edit.
Prior to the tallies on the Vote coming in for Phase 2 of the Calamitous Conflict, allegations were filed against Dron that he had been producing Estrogen out of his piss, as he had no outlet to produce genuine Estrogen.
This debate came into the forefront in an art post created following a comment, in which Dron steals a vast amount of Yhon’s Estrogen supplies. Yhon himself, succeeding this event, stormed the Dronists’ headquarters, allegedly discovering that Dron was in fact, creating fake Estrogen out of his piss. The Dronists’ attempts to debunk the claim was thwarted by the lack of reasons as to why they felt the need to steal Yhon’s estrogen. The event was furthered by the character Guma (Goozma, from the Calamity addon Hunt of the Old God) defecting to the Yhonites after learning that the Drons really were making Estrogen out of piss.
Near the breaking point of the war, Calas showed up in a rapid attempt to hoard all the estrogen for herself, attempting to summon Avtr Emptis (Avatar of Emptiness, from Wrath of the Gods). It was unknown if she was successful in her pursuits, as Avtr Empis had reportedly joined the Dronists.
During this time, Therde (The Lorde) also joined the war on nobody’s side, as he was transphobic. His attempts to thwart the parties failed, and was not acknowledged as part of the conflict, with many Dronists and Yhonites alike dismissing him as no threat.
‘
Fortunately for the Yhonites, an alternative source of Estrogen joined their legions: Poltergirl (Polterghast). According to the post’s creator, Poltergirl was able to produce the estrogen through a covert factory within the depths of the Dungeon, powered by the unpaid labor of enslaved souls. Poltergirl’s siblings Polterworm and Polternude joined following their sister.
At the same time that the infiltration side-quest was raging, a vote had also begun as the second phase of the Calamitous Conflict. Users were invited to state their favorite candidate and give votes by upvoting comments from users that supported that candidate. Ultimately, the candidate with the most upvotes on their comments would win the war.
The vote was an incredibly tumultuous battle, with the Dronists maintaining a consistent lead the entire time. After efforts from the Dronists to mass convince voters while the Yhons’ efforts were largely small and inconsequential, the Dronists pulled ahead with a massive lead. Alleged claims of voter fraud began to drop from the Yhonites. Throughout the war, many Dronists blatantly cherry-picked scenes from Yhonite comics, with one turning a post about Dronists’ alleged estrogen thievery transforming into an advertisement to get more people on the Dronists’s side. There were also claims that the Dronists were downvoting the Yhonites, which were proven true.
The status of the vote, 11.5 hours into the conflict (the vote lasted for 24 hours)
In the end, after several allegations of voter fraud pulled through, the Dronists were the one to win the war in a landslide, with around 7227 votes to the Yhonites’ measly 2965. Conclusively, following the vote, users were invited to post scenes and memes of the conflict, with all the scenes, music and artwork ultimately being compiled into a massive video edit.
After the war, tensions were high and voter fraud and rigging allegations exploded from the Yhonites’ side. Apparently, in this depiction, the three criteria to win the war were Art, Votes, and Piss. As it stood, it turned out that the Dronites’ estrogen really was made of Piss, but the Drons had cleverly concealed it under mass propaganda in a shocking twist ending. The Dronites claimed that Dron’s piss tasted far better and was much better HRT than Yhon’s estrogen, claiming that it “turned them into a girl in 5 seconds”.
The full Calamitous Creature War video also released during this time, chronicling the full events up to that point. (Note: The terms Calamitous Creature War, Calamitous Creature Conflict, and Calamitous Conflict are interchangeable). The video included massive amounts of contributions, artwork, and music from the community, detailing how Yhon launched into a war with Dron (likely after Dron’s war declaration) with Dron delivering a powerful counterattack before an all-out brawl began. Unfortunately, at the end, Senator Arm (Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), stole the power and votes that Yhon and Dron were throwing at each other, eliminating both Yhon and Dron in a shockingly brutal twist ending. How would the Calamitous Creatures crawl out of the way of this unexpected third-party assault if they were at each others’ throats?
Due to the crushing defeat at the hands of Senator Arm, Dron and Yhon were hospitalized, being afflicted with crushing Clamitous Paralisis [sic]. Accompanied by their allies, it would seem that there was no hope at all for the Calamitous Creatures. However, at the brink of finality, Dronists and Yhonites gathered together in a resplendent and catastrophic event: a meeting, not to fight, but to revive the two Calamitous Creatures that the world depended on to not be subsumed by Senator Arm. Even as they were flooded with positive words of encouragement, such as:
“COME ON! DEAR YHONS! YOU ARE BEINGS OF REBIRTH! YOU CAN PULL THROUGH!
COME ON! DEAR DRONS! DON'T YOU REMEMBER THE PLATINUM SHOWER I GAVE TO SAVE YOUR NUMBERS?!
YOU CAN DO IT! WE BELIEVE IN YOU!”
“LORD YHON I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS SO CONTINUE!”
“YOU HAVE TO GET UP DRON!!! WE CAN WIN THIS WAR!”
… it would seem that all was lost; the Calamitous Creatures, even with all this support, could not get up until…
… the power of the words “Deltarune Tomorrow!” that the Dronists and Yhonites had so desperately mustered surged through the Calamitous Creatures, reawakening them as they were surrounded by a halo of seven human souls. During this time, some mocked those who had falsely claimed the subreddit would “never be insane”
After hope and love from their believers in this nascent alliance empowered the armless beings, Dron and Yhon managed to survive the crippling Clamitous Paralisis, forming a truce at last. Under the watchful eye of Rain “Jack” Revengeance (Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), the duo began their training arc, honing their skills for one final fight…
As the Calamitous Conflict’s curtains were closing, the true final battle of the war had begun: Dron and Yhon, newly allied, versus the tyrannical Senator Arm. Every single Calamitous Creature which had formerly been at each other’s throats- Yhon, Dron, the Derer, Province, Skong, the Eo Mechs, V, Gu… and many more; even the neutral parties of Calas, Cralon and Yhim joined, because nobody likes Senator Arm - partook in the clash of history in blood, sweat and tears: a war which caused the world to change, and be remembered throughout the years!
As the duo approached Senator Arm, the powerful politician taunted them, assuming that they would simply clobber each other to death once again. However, in their hospitalization and training, they had realized one thing: that their ideals were both the same. In an epic reenactment of It Has To Be This Way from MGR, the limbless robot and dragon finally discovered that their paths had converged, and they would win the fight not as enemies in a painful truce - but as friends. (and perhaps something more)
As the dust settled on the Calamitous subreddit and the sounds of war ground to a standstill, the air was filled with the ash of fire and metal. Countless lives had been sacrificed in this brutal, estrogen-fueled conflict. Around was nothing but Dron and Yhon, alone on the front page of r/CalamityMod, eyes locked at each other, in a truce that was not one of obligation but genuine affection and love. Yhon couldn’t contain a blush that spread through his feathers, and Dron, despite his robotic nature, flushed the LEDs on his metal body with the same reddish hue. Draedon may have been apathetic, but after all this, the superior Dron could not contain the concealed love he’d hid from the resplendent Yhon. But now, it was pouring out in waves of crimson and rich mahogany and trembling hearts beating as one.
Yhon’s draconic lips puckered as the air grew warmer around them and the choice was made. Dron, shaking, couldn’t hold back. They lunged forth and smooched in a sloppy, metallic, resplendent kiss, finally accepting the unfettered love escaping from their now-united hearts. In this heartwarming display of Calamitous Yaoi, the sun rose on a new age of freedom for r/CalamityMod under the rule of its benevolent gay overlords. (Note that this had been foreshadowed two weeks prior by a potential future-reading psychic)
The age of the Calamitous Creature War drew to an end, and the age of Scorn Eater hatred began. But that’s a lore doc for another time!
(Hopefully our new married kings can deal with this newly-emerging problem)
Deltarune Tomorrow: A so-called “brainrot” phrase uttered by the Deltarune (the hit sequel to Undertale) fandom in the months and weeks leading up to Chapter 3 and 4’s release, spammed especially frequently the literal day before its release. Comparable to other “brainrot” subreddit catchphrases such as “Google En Passant” and “Is He Stupid?”
Fabsol Event: An event that occurred in late May 2025 when Fabsol, head of Calamity Staff team, was allegedly pedophilic and transphobic. These allegations turned out to be true, and Fabsol was explosively defenestrated from the balcony of the Calamity staff team. The resultant power vacuum ushered in the Calamitous Conflict.
Fandom Wiki: The unofficial Calamity wiki, which has been raided multiple times, abandoned, and now is a hub for shitposts of every caliber. Including Dron.
