You may request an item either in person, over the phone, or online through the library’s catalog. If you are looking for a book that the Portneuf Library does not currently own, please speak with a librarian so that we may find some way to get you the item you want.
If you wish to request an item over the phone or in person, please have your library card ready. If you cannot find your library card, we may use a photo ID (in person only)
To request an item through the library’s catalog:
Find the item in the library’s catalog. Click the button that says “place request.” Log into your account if you have not already done so. The password is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
Before you finalize your request, you may choose an activation date. This will let you delay your hold in the event that you are not quite ready to receive the item. (i.e. if you are going on vacation for two weeks, you may move the activation date forward so that the book does not arrive for you while you are away)
Click the “submit request” button at the bottom of the page. All that’s left to do is wait for the phone call letting you know that your item has arrived.
