Tell me about your company:
- Explain what your company / organization is and does.
- Pacific Formwork is a large formwork contractor that works across the east coast of Australia. Formwork is essentially creating the mold that concrete gets poured into for columns etc. Essentially we are a cake tin, but for concrete.
- How are you different than your competition?
- We constantly go overseas to large shows to see the latest innovations and try to bring them to Australia. Family owned and run business, and we try to look after our employees by providing BBQ’s, large christmas parties etc. We are also trying to modernise our workforce and utilise new technology to help our clients save money and for us to be more professional.
- What are the benefits of your product/service?
- We are generally more expensive than most of the local competition, but we have a good track record and we utilise and help our clients save thousands of dollars by suggesting improvements.
- How do you intend to market your company?
- Marking isn’t a big thing for our business. We generally get business via word of mouth. Though our advertisements are generally our website, vehicles, clothing, letter heads, business cards etc.
- What is the overall message you want to convey to your target audience?
- That we are a large organisation with the ability to complete projects of any size. That we have the experience and knowledge to keep our clients happy.
Goals and Objectives:
- What do you want to happen as a result of this project?
- A new modern logo, preferably with a icon that we can use to identify us, such as the Nike Logo, or the McDonalds M.
- Identify long-term and short-term objectives.
- New logo for our branding to be more modern.
Describe what you want designed:
- Describe your aims and requirements in detail here — the more specific, the better. Tell the designers what is required, but also let them know where they’re free to be creative.
- You can be creative as you want. I want something simple, with our name, and if possible blue and yellow colors with a black/white option. We recently had one done, that we love for our other company. http://www.precastprojects.com.au
- I like flat designs, minimalist designs and abstract designs
- Things like pretty much all the office 365 logos, google logos, tesla etc.
- What key pieces of information / copy need to be included?
- Our name and spaces for variations of our name. We have multiple companies. The main one/generic one is called Pacific Formwork, though we have Pacific Formwork (Aust), Pacific Formwork (QLD) etc.
- Include any images, sketches, or documents that may be helpful.
Competitors Design
- Use Google to search for similar designs that you like, include at least (4), explain why you like them and what to include / exclude in your design
- I like the abstractness of it
- There is an actual picture
- Colors (although not required)
- Simple, use of negative space (similar to the precast projects one I mentioned above)
- Very simple, not much use of colors but it’s distinctive
- I like the two distinctive colors
- (optional, but recommended) Do the same exercise but look for competitors designs that you DO NOT like and explain why.
Who is your target audience?
- Who are you trying to attract with your marketing message? Be specific.
- Younger generation of our clients. Our company is based on the bosses relationships with our clients, but the younger generation (my generation) doesn’t really care or haven’t got those relationships. So it’s for them.
- How do they feel about your product now?
- How do you want them to feel after?
- That it’s modern and professional.
Tone & Image:
Funny / Casual / Formal / etc. What tone and imagery will be most effective, specific visual goals?
Professional is the tone we are after
How will success be measured?
- Number of leads generated?
- How much we like it
- How easy it is to convince the boss to change
- Will you be measuring your goal (see above) by the number of sales made?
- As we don’t really have daily sales, it’s more just general brand recognition.
