Place: Camp Lapihio at Umstead Park, off of US-70/Glenwood Avenue. (http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/wium/facilities.php)
Dues: $80/family (up to 4 per family) or $25/person (age 6 and below are at no cost)
Registration & payment is required, and is due by Sept. 15. Please follow information at jscnc.org web site for more on how to register and pay.
Please note that the park gate closes at 8 PM and STRICTLY NO PARKING is allowed near the Umstead gate. JSCNC is not planning to have any shuttle service to the gate, so please plan accordingly if you are not staying for the night on Saturday.

Camp Lalit Chief Guest for 2015 – Honorable Ms. Taralaben Doshi
Well known Jain scholar, participating in educational activities for adults and teachers. Extensive knowledge of Jain scriptures. She is Co-Editor of Shasan Pragati since 2 years. Ex-editor of Jain Prakash magazine for past 20 years. Frequent contributor of articles on Jain philosophy in several Jain publications as well as reviewing books on Jainism. She is also Ex-associate editor of Bal-Jyot, a monthly publication of Bruhad Bombay Jain Shala Utkarsh Sangh. She is National award recipient for essay such as Syadwad and propriety in Jain Darshan.

NOTE:
1. YOU CAN NOT ENTER FROM THE I-40 SIDE FOR THIS CAMP.
2. PARK GATES ARE OPEN FROM 8 a.m. TO 8 p.m.
Enter Umstead Park from hwy 70 (~1 mile East from I-540 exit 4A)
Go ~1.1 mile (past Visitor’s center)
Left on Maintenance Rd (Group camps sign in brown on right)
Immediate Right (0.1 mile) on Group Camp Rd (Camp Lapihio, Camp Crabtree sign)
Go ~1.6 mile on gravel road to the Camp Laphio site (Note: Camp Laphio is to your right at the fork (Camp crabtree is to the left))
ITEMS TO BRING:
- Sleeping bags/mattresses
- Pillows
- Light sheets/blankets
- Jogging /nylon suits for the night are very comfortable
- Mosquito repellent (a must)
- Toiletries
- Flash light
- Comfortable clothes (depending on the weather forecast)
- Towels
- Camera
- Games (indoor/outdoor), especially for kids
As most of you may already know, the Mess hall has a wooden floor, which is hard to sleep on. However, the cabins have cots, so if you like you can use them too. Cabins are limited though in Camp Sites and are on first come first serve basis only.
Please note that this is not necessarily a complete list. Feel free to bring anything else that you feel could be useful in this picnic/camp.
