Q: Why does the body need iron?

A: Huge part of hemoglobin that carries blood throughout your body. Lack of iron directly allows you to increase healthy red blood cells. Lack of iron will make you feel tired, light-headed, and can even give you anemia! To conclude, iron will increase your hemoglobin which in turn give more oxygen throughout your body so you can feel great!

Q: Does daily iron requirement depend on age and gender?

A: Yes. Children need more iron because their bodies are growing and developing. The needs of iron become smaller as the person ages. Children 4-8 need about 10 mg daily. Children from 9-13 need 8 mg. Women need more iron than men because they lose much of it in their blood during their menstrual cycles. They need about 18mg.


Q: Is eating a lot of iron healthy?

A: Eating more than the recommended dose is very unhealthy and can cause cancer, heart attacks, and diabetes. Excess iron gets stored in the liver of the body.
