Midwest Qualifiers [Ruleset]
Updated automatically every 5 minutes

These are the Official Rules and Guidelines for the StarCraft 2 Midwest Qualifier on 8/16/14. Please read the rules carefully and use them for reference during the tournament.

Ignite Gaming Lounge has kindly provided their venue, staff, and PC’s to us free of charge, and covered the costs of running this tournament. Additionally, Red Bull eSports has kindly sponsored this event with prizing of all-expenses paid trips to Red Bull Detroit Battle Grounds.

Please show your support for both Ignite and Red Bull, so that we can have more tournaments like this in the future, and hopefully bring more attention to the Midwest!

Players must be 18 or old to compete, and residents of USA or CAN.

Brackets

The brackets will initially be posted inside Ignite during check-in on tournament day. They will also be made available on every tournament PC.

Seating

Due to the large size of this tournament, Winners rounds 1-3 and Losers Rounds 1-3 will require seat changes after every match. Please unplug your gear and leave the station immediately following your match unless instructed otherwise. Your next seat will be assigned at the front desk.

Please be prompt with concluding/reporting your matches so that the bracket can keep moving.

Finding your Match

Use the “Players near me” feature on battle.net to find your opponent. In the early rounds, your opponent should be in the same pod as you, however in the later rounds this will not be the case. Please be proactive if you are having trouble locating your opponent by contacting the tournament administrator.

Screen Positioning

Both players should locate their opponent and be aware of where they are seated. The tournament staff will also assist in making sure seats are not visible to opponents, but ultimately it is the player’s responsibility.

It is your own responsibility to protect your screen visibility prior to your match.

If a player is found to have intentionally disconnected, the player will be disqualified.

In order to dispute game results, players must notify an admin that they would like to protest the game before a new game has begun.

Contacting Your Opponent

Both players must make an attempt to make contact with each other within 10 minutes of their match being posted in the brackets.

All matches should be played as soon as possible, unless permission has been given from a tournament administrator.

Missing or unresponsive players may be forfeit, so it is recommended that you not ladder or leave the premises during the tournament. Check with a tournament admin for approximate times until your next match.

If you are unable to contact your opponent after 10 minutes, please contact a tournament admin immediately.

After your match, the winner should report the final score to Silvare.941 via message or at the admin desk.

Do not start your next match until the bracket has been updated and your match has been posted.
