I'm writing to ask that you and your colleagues in Parliament condemn President Trump's crackdown on protesters demanding racial equality and justice in the US. Pressure should also be applied to the British Government to do the same.

I also urge you to demand that the UK stop selling tear gas and rubber bullets to the US with immediate effect. UK law prohibits the Government from selling these items when there is evidence that they will be used for repressive purposes.

In addition, I ask that you throw your full support behind Black Lives Matter campaigns in the UK and demand justice and equality for Black people in the UK. The British police are not innocent, and nor is the British state.

Finally, please pressure the British Transport Police to re-open the investigation into Belly Mujinga’s death. If people can be prosecuted for spitting on police and “joking” about having Covid-19, then the man who spat on Ms Mujinga can also be prosecuted.
