Role Description:

As the President of SAAC, he/she will represent all student-athletes at the University and Athletic Department level. This person is responsible for helping to set the vision, goals, and objectives of SAAC, with assistance of the SAAC Advisor and executive board. This President will serve as an ABIA rep, committing to all scheduled events. They will represent SAAC and all student-athletes at athletic department, coaches, and leadership team meetings. The President will set the executive board meeting agenda and work closely with the Vice President to set the general assembly agenda. He/she will be responsible for communicating with internal and external organizations, as needed. They are responsible for securing the Sponsored Student Organization Agreement.

Qualifications:

  1. Current student-athlete
  2. Must have served one year as a SAAC rep
  3. Possesses great organization skills
  4. Ability to effectively communicate to various parties
  5. Committed to SAAC and Michigan Athletics
  6. Passionate about improving the student-athlete experience
  7. Willingness to bring about change

Expectations:

  1. Must be willing and able to speak in public
  2. Firm commitment to ABIA scheduled events
  3. Attendance at e-board meeting is required
  4. Must be able to represent Athletic Department, as needed
  5. Meet with SAAC Advisors on bi-monthly basis

Time Commitment:

The President can expect to work 3-6 hours per week. This includes the following:
