FROM OUR BROADER COMMUNITY
Accommodations wanted: Hannah R. is moving to Toronto (most recently from Tanzania and Ottawa) to work for World Vision. She is looking for accommodation (shared would be great), preferably in west Toronto or Etobicoke. She is a friend of Alison and Ernie's, and can be reached via the TUMC Admin.
Could you drive MCC kits to 50 Kent Avenue in Kitchener from time to time? TUMC is a drop-off point for kits from the GTA, but our former courier no longer visits the MCC office regularly. TUMC is open Monday-Friday from 9:00-4:00. 50 Kent opens at 9:00 am Monday through Saturday, with varying closing hours. The trunk or back seat of a car has enough capacity. Please contact the TUMC Administrator if you are interested.
Sunday September 11. Potluck Wedding Shower at TUMC after the worship service, for Aaron N. and Alyson B. Please offer to help Alyse E. If you would like to give towards a group gift, please see Jana L. or Alyse. Everyone is invited to bring their favourite recipe written on a recipe card for the couple.
Friday Sept. 16. 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Taizé prayer. A quiet time of chants and reflective prayer open to all ages. Musicians are invited to bring your instruments. (We will have similar services on the third Friday of every month).
Saturday September 17. The Toronto Mennonite Festival, the 50th anniversary MCC relief sale at Black Creek Pioneer Village. Plan to be there and help out. There's the TUMC Rosette booth where you can spend a pleasant 2-hour shift and still have lots of time to enjoy the rest of the sale; and there are some additional volunteer opportunities for this 50th anniversary year. Read all about it. Contact Tobi T. for general information. To volunteer for Rosettes, please sign-up on the sheet in the renovated lobby, or contact Ed H.
