Read the poem ‘The Scarf’ carefully and answer the following questions:

What is a neon sign: A sign that let people or anyone know what's happening to a store. It says that its open or close by a sign.

Who do you think Susan is: The boy’s Mum (family)  Why: Because parents help you, so it mean the boy’s mum helped by making him a scarf.

What do you visualise (see in your mind) when you read this poem: A lava warm scarf protecting him from the cold.

Which metaphor is your favourite: A finger of lava.  Why: Because lava is warm, and in my mind its like a nice warm lava warming his neck.
