In North Brunswick, we believe our students must use technology to learn and succeed. Digital teaching and learning can transform students’ lives and we encourage students to use it to create opportunities throughout their school years and after they graduate.
Technology helps us solve problems, access information, and collaborate. We want our students to be active online and to connect with others in North Brunswick and around the world, but we also want them to be responsible and safe. These Responsible Use Guidelines are provided to help our Kindergarten through second grade students understand the Board approved Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and rules for technology use. Both support our vision of digital teaching and learning and foster a strong sense of digital citizenship.
Using the computer correctly and responsibility is very important. I promise to follow these rules:
1. I promise to use the computer carefully.
2. I promise to only use the computer for learning and will never use it to hurt, frighten or bully others.
3. I promise to only work on the programs and web pages that my teacher tells me to use.
4. I promise to ask for help if I don’t know what to do.
5. I promise only to share my passwords with my teacher or parent.
6. I promise to tell an adult if I read or see something on the computer that is not appropriate.
7. I promise to print only when my teacher tells me to.
8. I promise to only use my own files and folders.
9. I understand that if I break any of my promises, I might not be able to use the computers.
I will pledge to show that I will follow these rules.
