The Library Director, with direct or procedural approval, may authorize the loan of library equipment, materials, and artifacts to citizens and organizations when such loans support the mission statement and goals of the CJRL system.  When authorized through procedural measures, the Director may impose a standard deposit associated with specific items.  Loans approved by the Director (1) must be documented with sufficient detail to readily identify the items loaned (2) must be acknowledged in writing by the Director, the recipient, and any remediating employee (3) may not exceed in part or in whole a value in excess of $1000.00 and (4) may not exceed a loan period of more than four weeks.  All other loans require the formal approval of the Board of Trustees.  The Board of Trustees reserves the right to pursue disciplinary or prosecutory actions for loaned items that are not returned in the same or better condition than as was loaned.
