Activity Calendar

Overview

The Kindergarten projects focus on mouse control, beginning typing, and creating graphic designs about content. For this grade we use learning.com online lessons and projects and the Kid Pix 3D program. The culminating project will be a slideshow of their work. They will print their slideshow in a book form.

Action Items

This list of action items were written by the 2013-2014 TIS based on the TEKS for k-2. Those TEKS were created into action item statements to demonstrate what actions GPISD would address to cover this TEK and then the action items were assigned a grade level. These action items will be covered in all Kindergarten rooms in GPISD as a part of our vertically aligned plan to reach our Student Graduate profile.

  • Students will all have used a tablet or interactive whiteboard to interact with curriculum and problem solve.
  • Students will change variables in an online world as a class.
  • Students will experience interactive books.
  • Students will type at least type a formulaic sentence (using shift and spaces) and create their own graphic.
  • Students will create a graphic organizing data they have learned in the curriculum.
  • Students will combine graphics to create a slideshow or book as a finished project.
  • Students will start using rubrics to judge their projects either as a class or individual.
