Destiny Fan Concept: The Tectonic Subclasses

Greetings, Guardians.

I am rather staunch in regards to how subclasses are presented. There needs to be the right amount of mysticism and science in order to convince me it will work. As such, I have been skeptical about using traditional Fantasy elements as the basis of powers in Destiny. However, there are few that I believe can be done if spun correctly.

/u/Molecularization posted a concept of a Earth/Magnetic subclass which inspired me to see what I could do with the concept.

Tectonic Light grants its wielders access to the planet shaping powers of the Traveler. In Geology, “tectonic” is used to refer to the structure of the earth’s crust, forces within the earth that cause plates to move, and the results of such movement. It can also pertain to building construction and architectural structure.

Wanting to play up the geomagnetic angle is nice, and I actually think it's a rather clever way of working in an earthen element in a science-fantasy setting.

Titans would likely utilize this power in literal tectonic forms.

Depending on how you spin it, the Hunter or Warlock probably wants to assume a Druidic or Geomancy type of identity.

Tectonic Light - "The Traveler’s Light can be used to shape worlds."

The universe is defined by fundamental forces. Energy propagates through medium. By listening to the earth, one can hear the heartbeat of a world.
