Doctors and nurses lack protective gear during a pandemic and yet the police department is armed with highly lethal and costly weapons of war. Schools lack resources such as staff, books, technology and yet police officers are equipped with advanced military-grade intelligence tools. Families are struggling to pay rent, to put food on the table and yet police officers enter communities not to offer support or service but to punish, maim and murder. This must stop and stop now. We have had enough.

I urge you to reallocate funding the NY/LA PD receives to programs that benefit communities and help them grow. I urge you to provide our neighbors with the resources that will facilitate their living decent and fulfilling lives such as education, jobs, transportation and health care. I urge you hold the police accountable for their actions and stop perpetuating a police state. Continuing their extravagant funding will only strengthen the unchecked power they wield indiscriminately, nation-wide, and against the very people it is their JOB to protect.

I stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. I refuse to be complicit in acts of police brutality against my Black brothers and sisters and demand that you act in the best interests of the people NOW.
