The Illustrated London News (2s.) is rich in colour plates, of which the largest is “The Inspiration,” by M. de Laszlo, and others include four “Legends of the Flowers” by Miss E. Fortescue Brickdale, two cathedral scenes by P. G. Rigaud, and a “Joan the Maid” by Kay Neilsen. One of the stories in the number is “The Widow's Loan," by Vicente Blasco Ibanez.
