Protect and Invest in School Counselors - Stop the Cuts

Hi Everyone,

​Now that the shutdown has finally ended, we’re on to the next action alert! In light of recent events with budget cuts and counselor layoffs in Philadelphia, PA and Fairfax County, VA (Fairfax County will propose deep cuts, including furloughs, classroom staff reductions, and ending a foreign language program in elementary schools. The Washington Post: Prince George's school chief offers a six-month plan:, NACAC has developed a general action alert that everyone can participate in to urge their state officials to not think of public school counselors as expendable resources in tight budget times.
