This is Jacinda and I’m giviing you a blast from the past, and were going all the way back to the early 90s. I’m going to interview my mom today about new kids on the block. She’s going to tell us how New kKids On The Block were her favorite boy band, and how they influenced other boy bands throughout history.

What was the first song you heard from New Kids On The Block?

The first song I heard from New Kids On The Block, was “You Got The Right Stuff.”

What were your favorite songs from the band?

Um, my favorite songs from the band was, “Please Don’t Go Girl,” and “The Right Stuff,” and “Step by Step.”

Why were New Kids On The Block important to you?

Um, they were important because, at the time everybody knew who New Kids On The Block were, and if you didn’t I guess you were lame. (JOKING) But most importantly they just got me in a better mood. Like espeically with bullying at school. They made me feel good when I would come home and put their ablum on, listen to their music and watch their videos, it was just a fun time.

Does the band bring up any special memories to you?

Yeah! Like collecting all their posters, and all their buttons. My sister and I would put them on our jackets, and pants. Our room was filled with posters all over the wall. Having their pajams and T-shirts, or dolls. At of good memories.

I remember having big buttons of New Kids On The Block, I had medium buttons, small buttons. My sister and I would put posters all over the room. You could not see one piece of wall paper. There was posters all over the walls of New Kids On The Block, we were like totally obessed.  

Do you think New Kids On The Block opened doors for other boy bands.

Of course with out New Kids On The Block, there wouldn’t be no NSYNC, or Back Street Boys, or there wouldn’t have been no One Direction, and the Jonas Brothers. And I’m pretty sure theres more, I just can’t remember. But without them there wouldn’t have been all of these bands, and artist too, like Justin Timberlake, and Justin Bieber.
