To play in the tournament one had to:

• Sign up to Good-Gaming.com and pay the $5.00 entry fee
• Sign up to Challonge.com
• Sign up to TeamSpeak, and download and configure their client
• Make sure to read all the rules and info which was provided on 5 or more separate Google Sheets
• Connect to the correct Teampseak server and figure out which "room" you're supposed to be in
• Wait for your check-in email
• Check in at Challonge
• Wait for your bracket email
• Find & add your opponent on Hearthstone, if you can determine their Battle.net Tag from their Challonge username

The start time changed several times.

• From 5:00PM EST to 6:00 to 7:00 to 8:00. There was further confusion in the chat room from people in PST and CST trying to figure out when it started for them.
• Then changed to 8:30pm

• Matches that were played at 8pm didn’t count.
• Listener semicharmed went through exactly this, was kicked from the Teamspeak, was no longer listed in the pairings on Challonge, and was not given a refund because “he played a game.”

Other issues:

• The decklist registration requirement was dropped for the first phase of the tournament basically allowing cheating to occur.
• According to Katy’s article on HearthstonePlayers.com at the end of it all Good Gaming blamed the players and the Swiss format for

Semicharmed: This being my first Hearthstone tournament, I don't know if this is the standard for these sorts of things. I sincerely hope not. I'm especially frustrated because this event was advertised on the Battle.net client that I see every time I open Hearthstone. If Blizzard is going to advertise a tournament, I would expect it to be run a lot more smoothly than this.

Allum pointed us to an article written by HearthstonePlayers.com titled The Tournament That Should Never Have Happened that goes through an extremely detailed breakdown of all of the issues that players experienced over this past weekend trying to compete in Good Gaming’s tournament.
