The Story of Rip Van Kyle

        It was October 19, 2016, the day before my brothers’ birthdays. My parents were shopping for presents while Jacob, Cody, and I were at Elitches Fright Festival with our cousins. Right now Jess and I are in line for the Brain Drain. We just got on it and it was about to start! We went up, and up, and up, and fell backwards!!! We rode 2 more times after that.

        When we were done we were going to go on to the Mind Eraser with Jacob and Macie. Right now Cody is on Twister 2 with my aunt. “Man this line is long”, Jacob said. “Finally”, I said. When we got on I said, “Don’t look down!” When we got to the top again I said “Don’t look down!” Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When we got off Jess said, “I told you we shouldn’t have gone on it!” “Okay sorry, that was my fault.”, Macie said in a sorrowful voice.

        “Here I’ll buy some ice cream while you guys go ride the Halfpipe”, Macie said. Jacob, Jess, and I were in line when I started feeling rain dripping. “Here let's go find Macie”, Jess said. We found Macie riding the Pirate Ship when we told her we needed to find Cody and our aunt. The park manager on the loud speaker said we needed to get to the auditorium. “Come on maybe we’ll find them there”, Jacob said. We got to the auditorium and found Cody but not our aunt. “We were on Twister II when she just disappeared, I told the manager and she said that she would send crew to look for her”, Cody explained. “Maybe the lightning took her away, there is a superstition that if you ride a roller coaster while lightning strikes you could be taken by lightning.”, Jess said. “That is NONSENSE, what are thinking, superstitions are real?”, Macie said. “Where’s the ice cream you promised us Macie”, Jacob said. “It was closed and said be back in a second.”, Macie told Jacob. We asked the security guards if they could find our aunt but of course they said, No. “Can I go see if I could find her”, I said. “Sure, just, um don’t go to Kiddie Land”, the security guard said. “Why not?”, I said in a confused voice. “You don’t need to know”, he said. I went to look around the park but I saw nothing but rides moving but nothing but green glowing person shaped objects on rides. “Don’t be afraid Kyle, don’t be afraid”, I said to myself. I found a piece of paper lying on the ground saying “DON’T GO TO KIDDIE LAND”. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea?!, I thought. I saw lightning and heard thunder at the same time, so it is right near me!!!!!! “Run!!!!!”. My only other choice was to go to Kiddie Land! I ran to Kiddie Land and started hearing creaking, and cracking, and screeching! “I should go to the auditorium like right now!”, I thought. I got to the auditorium, found my family and told them I couldn't find our aunt. “I knew I should’ve picked a day to go without a storm”, Cody said. “Here’s a thought that I should have shared, how about we call our parents.”, Jacob said, “Oh ya I forgot that we have parents, I was just so freaked out!”, Jess said. Macie called our parents and said, “Aunt Ruth is gone, there’s a thunderstorm and we needed to get OUT!” Our parents replied to us saying “We were just coming to pick you up”. When they picked us up we went as fast as we can down the I-25 to get home. When we got on to Harmony Rd. we turned and got hit by a car really fast, I couldn’t feel my body and I felt so weird! I thought I was dreaming about living on a mansion and owning a Lamborghini and everything felt different!

        I started waking up and I had a BEARD and a MOUSTACHE!!! What just happened! Also I’m in the hospital with nurses holding a machine with a needle! Just then they pulled the machine away and I asked what happened to me. The nurse told me it was on October 19, 2016 when my family and I crashed. I was in the hospital for 20 years! “I was sleeping for 20 YEARS!!!”, I said in  a mad voice. “You mean I missed my childhood”, I said in a sad voice.

        I rushed out of the hospital in fear wondering what happened to everything like; What was made, who invented it, did people in my family die? I just wanted to know. I waved down a taxi to get me home...wherever that is! I told him to drop me of at 1234 Candy Land Drive, La La Land. When we got to my house it looked refurbished and it said “Welcome to the Joneses”. “Where could my house be?”, I said confused. “How about we call them?”, I said. I pulled out my phone and asked Jacob where he lived. He told me he lives in San Francisco, California and has 5 children, two girls and three boys! I asked if I could live with him until I figure out where my life is going. He said that I could live with him and he lived at 658 Queenston Drive, hmm sounds fancy. When I showed up on his street it was 658 and it was a Hugenormous house! I rang the doorbell, “Man this doorbell is nice!”, I said. When I got into the house I asked what job he had and he said that he was a lawyer! “So who is who?”, I asked. “The oldest is Will, the youngest is Lillian, the tallest is Ben, the shortest is John, and the one with pigtails is Coral”, Jacob said. “Okay so Will, hi nice to meet you, Lillian, nice to meet you, Ben, also nice to meet you, John, you to, Coral nice to meet you, it was nice to meet you all!”, I said. I put my clothes in the guest bedroom and then we went shopping for a phone. “How about the Apple Infiniti phone?”, Jacob said, “Sure”, I said.

        When it was dinner time we ordered a pepperoni pizza. When we finished eating the pizza, I asked Jacob what I should do for a living. Jacob said that I should do my dream, a technical engineer. “Maybe, I just am not really the most technology type person right now, but I am interested in being a scientist to discover brains and how I fell asleep for 20 years.”, I said. When I was sleeping I had more dreams about technology and my dream to be an engineer. When I woke up I started having more weird thoughts that I would change the world of technology by brain! “I need to take a look at my old phone, do you have any micro-screwdrivers?”, I asked Jacob, “Yes, yes, they’re over here”, Jacob said. I opened up my phone and saw a Fossil Software Chip, “Hmm, maybe I could replace the software chip with a new one, and maybe I could create a company that reuses old technology and replace it with new technology, but is that safe?”, I questioned myself. I asked Jacob if I could borrow some money. He said he would give me fifty dollars to try and if it doesn’t work then I would have to earn money and pay him fifty dollars in the next week. He drove me to the store but I could only find Pricell software chips. We bought one, drove home and then I went to the garage and got the micro-screwdriver and then opened up my phone. I took a look at it and it looked pretty old. “This better work”, I said crossing my fingers. I took out the software chip placed it in a clear cup put the Pricell software chip in and then I carefully put the screen back on screwed it back in and then I said, “From what I have learned, you must wait  2 days so the software can reload and develop in a process slowly.” I noticed that I didn’t code the chip to do anything. “Aw man back to the drawing board!”, I said. I took the screen back off and removed the chip. I asked Jacob if I could use his computer, he said only until he needed it. I plugged the chip into the computer, and turned on the computer. When it got to the start screen it said, “Software creator”. I clicked on it and popped up into another window and said, “Select software type: Apple Infiniti, Microsoft Software, Dibble App Software, ENTER (AN)OTHER CODE(S):                   ”, I selected Apple Infiniti and said “COMPLETED THE PROCESS”. I took out the chip, went back to the garage and put the chip into my phone. Then again, I screwed the screen back in and then just had to wait 2 days while charging it. After two days, I went back into the garage and unplugged my phone. I turned it on and it said on the screen, “Name____ Date____ Apple ID____ Email____”, “Yes, it worked!!!”, I said so proudly. I turned it off and told Jacob, “I did it, look!”. “I think you just found yourself a career, to remake the technology back then and now.”, Jacob said.
