1. The 50% "Sun Tax"

In 2025, the incumbents voted to hike the fixed monthly service charge for residential homes from $20 to $30. This is a mandatory fee you pay even if you use zero electricity. The Clean Energy Team were the ONLY ones to stand up and vote NO.

2. Subsidizing Big Tech

SRP is spending $169 million on grid upgrades largely to support the 24/7 power demand of massive AI Data Centers.

  • The Reality: Residential rates went up 3.5%, while Large Industrial users (Data Centers) only saw a 1.3% increase. You are paying for their substations.

3. Data Centers Harm Your Health

  • Air Pollution: Data centers rely on diesel backup generators that emit fine particulates (PM2.5) linked to asthma and heart disease.
  • Noise Pollution: The 24/7 industrial hum from cooling fans is a physiological stressor linked to high blood pressure and sleep deprivation.
  • Water Scarcity: A single data center can use millions of gallons of water a day—draining our desert’s most precious resource.
