Genesis

There was once a void. Two spirits were born- the God of Creation and the God of Destruction. The universe they made wasn't the first- every 100 trillion years they restart the Universe. They have already done this an infinite amount of times. Each time it ends, everything is erased and a new iteration begins.

Tree of Life

the seeds of life come from the tree of life. every thousand years millions of the seeds go to other worlds. once they land they make a new kind of life.

demons where to mean't use to as a recycle bin. they go and find random life and kill it.

 NARBUS

Narbus is the moon of a gas giant, one of many planetary worlds. At night, and during the day, you can see some moons. With observation, you can see it is one of 58 moons.  Not even half of Narbus has been explored; only ten percent has been documented. Narbus is not the only world. There are six known worlds besides Narbus and they each have different stories and lore. The biggest land masses are Equad, Maria, and Selstrom.

Where humanity has originated has always been a mystery. Some say they come from Southern Maria, others say they come from Felstom. The races of men have built the greatest empires and cities out of all the races.

The Desert of Fire

When Alexander's son came of age, he made it his goal to create a united Narbus but passed away before he could make it a reality. The desert is 500 years old and is as big as North Africa. A fable is associated with the Desert of Fire-

“A long time ago the Desert of Fire was once tropical paradise,  one day, the land was cursed by the Goddess of Life after one person burnt her temples and cities in a rampage

Yes, a psychotic madman. The Mad Man was a retired warrior, who went insane from the experience of battle. He went on a rampage across the desert, slaughtering everything in sight and bringing cities to ruin. Of course, Alexander killed him.

And after that the Goddess of Life cursed the land, outraged that her temples were burned down. That is how the story goes.”’

Nations

Delten

The biggest kingdom in Maria. The people there are good smithers and sailors. The desert is hot and dry, with the only plants on the river Delta. Home to a subrace of humans who have dark skin, blond hair, and eyes as blue as the sea.

The land is known for giant lizards they call Steel Claws. Steel Claws are 8 feet tall and stand on two legs.The land is also full of the aforementioned ruins, and giant scorpions that guard them. The people who dare explore the land belong to the Explorer’s Guild. The natives of the Desert of Fire prefer to ride camels instead of horses, because horses are very poor at riding through sand and need lots of care. While camels may be slower than horses, they need little care and are very coordinated.

The people of Delten are very open to outsiders and are willing to trade with them. The guards protect the roads, so only use roads under the risk of being killed by an 8 foot scorpion, a rabbit, or a snake.7

You have to worry about soldiers and raids, as the nation is at war with Alexandria and are expanding into the capital. Most people say they will take a strategic port city and rule all of the Alexandrian territory. Because of this war scare, to enter Delten you must be checked by guard from head to foot. They also celebrate Alexander's greatest feat which was killing the demon called the Internal Flame which killed worlds and turned them to wastelands.

The Delten army is mostly cavalry and ground troops. They need to defend themselves from the Marian Empire, and to invade Corona. The desert functions as a type of natural barrier, so enemies come via boat.

They also have the best navy in Maria and even took Seltrom from Felstrom. Seltrom has bird-corgis and are allowed to participate in their traditional culture but must pledge allegiance to Delten.

Corona

Corona is a small state the size of Texas, with three major cities. They get their food from endemic, bizarre insects- caterpillars the size of swines and beetles the size of cows. These bugs are fed defecation and the dead. They are also the source of the kingdom’s water, by boiling their shells. The same goes for clothing. The carapaces of pillbugs are used as clothing. It is home to another sub race of men that are pale with grey eyes and black hair.

At some point in the past, an event caused a large amount of ash to be deposited over the kingdom.

The army of Corona is mostly heavy infantry and archery. Many people aren't welcome into Corona, as it is a highly conservative state. In fact, some people hunt other races and want to torture them for fun.

Maria

The Marian Empire was once an empire which ruled the southern half of the Marian continent. But after a civil war, the empire has been split into Delten and Maria. The Maria empire is home of a race of men who are tall, pale, and covered in freckles. The Marian Empire and Delten are at war, which has been going on for over half a millennium.

The Mysterious North

The Mysterious North is a place not much explored. A temple that lies in the center of the region was made by the ancients, but is quite dangerous because there are monsters inside of it. The only Explorer’s Guild activity is located at the North Pole, at the North Pole Explorers Guild. They explore the land and investigate the past civilizations who lived where they were.

Felstrom

Felstrom is a cold, pine tree-covered kingdom with creatures from Earth’s Ice Age. There are wooly mammoths, ligers, and even rare ten-foot tall ice giants.

The Heavens

The world wasn't made by a god, but the universe it’s in was. The universe is full of worlds. Only seven out of potentially millions have been discovered. The other realms are the god's’ own realms where they spend most of their days.

The humans go to the other worlds using World Gates, crafts made out of the decaying gore of the Internal Flame.

  1. Terradeserta

Terradeserta is a frozen wasteland, with the only life existing on it near the seas and near the volcano. The ruins that are located in the tundra were once cities that existed when the climate of Terradeserta was much more mild. The Gens de Feu, a pyrobiological species, live in the volcano. As they are the guardians of the land, humans trade coal and fuel with them in return for the privilege of living on Terradeserta.  

2. Greentijd

The world of Greentijd is a world tidally locked to its star. The side facing towards its sun is a scorching, lifeless desert, and the half facing away from its sun is a frigid, dead icewall.  The only habitable place is a thin strip of land between the two megabiomes.

3. Matasa Duniya

Matasa Duniya is the youngest of the worlds and only has 4 lakes. Around the lakes are only primitive plants and animals. Matasa Duniya was formed 400 million years ago. It is the diameter of Titan, and all four lakes are about eighteen miles wide.

4. Lando Malnova

Lando Malnova is the oldest of the discovered worlds. It’s a dying place, because its parent star is turning into a red giant. As it heats up to its eventual demise, the plants are slowly wilting and the lakes are slowly shrinking. It also has demons, who eat the life on it and are also cooperating to destroy the plants and animals.

5. Donut World

This has only one landmass that rings around the planet. The land only has two biomes; the southern tropics and the northern wastelands. It was rumored to be created by a magical experiment gone terribly wrong.

6. Ilẹ ti Yinyin

Ilẹ ti Yinyin was once a water world, but after a meteor impacted the planet two hundred years ago, its orbit has been changed and the temperature has dipped below freezing. Whatever life that still survives on this world does so under the warm shadow of several active volcanoes.

7.Y tir o goedwig

Y tir o goedwig is a world virtually completely covered by terrestrial and aquatic jungle. Y tir o goedwig has so many oxygenating organisms, there is three times as much oxygen as there is on Earth. It's ecosystem is dominated by insects, some of which are intelligent.

  Magic

Magic in Narbus is powered by the mind . The most powerful mages have learned to balance their mind, body and environment to unleash ultimate powers. The most powerful mage is Alexander.

  1. Destructive magic uses fire and lightning to inflict physical damage. It is powered by negative emotions such as rage or anger.
  2. Illusive magic uses apparitions to cause mental confusion. It is powered by imagination and creativity.
  3. Elemental magic uses the elements of the Universe as a base. Earth magic is used to summon golems which crush people. Water magic can control any state of water and is used in naval warfare.

4.godly magic can only be used by someone who is emotionally balanced.

 

Dragons

Wyverns - Wyverns can't learn magical language or breathe fire, but they make up for this with their intelligence. They can be taught human languages. The Marian army uses them as soldiers.

Amphiphipteres - Live on Equade coastlines, and are extremely good at catching fishes. For this reason, Equade fishermen keep them.

Drakes - Drakes are small and are endemic to Felstrom. They are kept as pets and form close bends with their caretakers. They also require little maintenance.

Serpent Dragons - Serpent dragons are vicious, aquatic dragons that can grow to the size of a blue whale. They are very dangerous, and are responsible for countless destroyed ships and many missing fishermen.

Ouroboroae - Ouroborae live in Delten. They are excellent navigators, and help Delten explorers navigate the harsh deserts.

All dragons have a number of things in common. They can learn human languages (to varying extents), and have reptilian and avian characteristics. They can develop bonds with their caretakers, if they treat them responsibly by offering them food and social interaction.

Although dragons are the most widely owned domestic animal in Narbus, dogs, manticores, saber toothed cats, and bunyips are the second, third, fourth, and fifth-most owned animals, respectively.

Currency

The Delten use Alexens, which individually have the approximate value of $5.00 (€4.60).

Corona uses Ashens, which individually have the approximate value of $10.00 (€9.60).

Felstrom uses Krowns, which individually have the approximate value of $3.00 (€2.70).

Maria uses the same currency as Delten.

Vampirism

 Vampires are a type of human possessing a genetic deviation passed through family. Some vampires can shape-shift into any living thing, as long as said living thing is multicellular. Others can control the minds of tamed beasts. Some even, can turn invisible!

Lycanthropy

Lycanthropes are people with the hidden ability to transform into specific animals. Some of the greatest warriors are lycanthropes. A lycanthrope can activate “beast mode” whenever he desires, but they can only activate it once every twenty-four hours, and only for a maximum of two hours during this period.

  1. Wolves are the symbol of charisma. Lycanthropes who can transform into wolves usually become generals or great leaders.
  2. Bears are the symbols of strength and endurance.
  3. Saber-toothed cats are the symbol of the hunt. Most lycanthropes who grow to be hunters are born with it.

The Great Death

The Great Death was a battle that lasted an entire millennium, between the Internal Flame and the races of Narbus. Alexander turned the tide of the battle and punched him “like One Punch Man”. The kill was so dramatic that the Internal Flame exploded, and the chunks of his body turned into World Gates.

The Ranks of Demons

  1. Life Eaters are the size of bears and eat only life and chunks of solid matter.
  2. Great Destructors are the size of a average city and can eat many civilizations.
  3. Bringers of Destructions are huge demons that eat worlds and all types of matter. They defecate un-metabolised matter.
  4. The Internal Flame is the largest of them all. It almost ate eighty percent of Narbus if it weren't for the combined efforts of almost everyone on the moon. It once almost ate a star out of its gluttony.

Holidays of Narbus

One time, every year, Narbus’s host planet eclipses the sun for several days. The peoples of Felstrom celebrate this because they can hunt the nocturnal beasts of the land early. Some say, whoever can slay a saber-toothed liger, can get to have the Nocturnal Crossbows- a set of bows which were crafted from mighty pine trees.

Delten celebrate the grape harvest by drinking alcoholic beverages and holding exuberant parties. A huge feast is held, where all are invited. The reason everybody is invited is because the day is all about equality and wine.

The Marian Empire celebrates the founding of the guilds. The guilds were made to allow people with specific skillsets find the correct jobs. There are three different guilds that represent merchants, soldiers, and craftsmen.

Corna celebrates the Great Hunt, where they travel outside of their territories and hunt other races for sport. They skin and mount their victories in their homes.

Selstrom has a great festival, where the nation gathers all of its internal reserves of peanut butter and consumes all of it. They nap afterwards.

The Science of World Gates

The world gates work as the if a positive reaction. A demon is part of the universe and death of one has both positive and negative reactions which rip holes in space and time which brings people around the universe and galaxies. If the demon is big enough it can go to other universes.

The Common Races of Oribus

  1. Cats, after the destruction of Earth, accompanied humans in their travels. They traveled to other worlds without humans, sometimes. Due to the different environments in other worlds, they've evolved higher intelligence and have built manchines they can use to pick up things, like people. They have also spread catnip to some other worlds, because they ingest it and poop it out. Some populations have invented language, but they normally trade or make companies.
  2. The Metal Beings come from Ferrum Terra. Instead of being carbon-based, they use iron as a base. Their homeworld is very hot and dark, and the temperature can reach up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Many have tried to travel there, but the unstable environment and acidic atmosphere makes this impossible.
  3. Humans came from Earth, after a demonic horde attacked the planet. Many animals followed humans on their travels. Because of how World Gates work, there are now many fragmented populations scattered across the worlds.
  4. Some octopi accessed submarine World Gates and went to ilẹ ti yinyin. They have primitive houses and fight sometimes.
  5. The Gens de Feu are creatures made out of fire. They feed on flammable materials, and die without anything to burn. As there isn't as much burnable stuff where they live as there was in the past, they trade with settlers for coals and fuel.
  6. The native race of Greenjtid resemble hermit crabs. They are quite slow, and filter feed for sand nutrients. Compared to other races, they don't communicate so much to outsiders.
  7. The Slug Peoples of the coastlines are a species of mollusks that have very different social norms than we do. Basically emotionless, they sometimes murder their own young, and even torture captive members of other races that fall asleep on the coastline. The more obese a Slug is the higher of a place it has in society. Bacon is a delicacy among the Slug Peoples, and their leader, Sir Brian Gurthy, is the fattest of them all from eating so much of it.
  8. The Seltromian bird-corgies are a peaceful race aversive to conflict. They never instigate fights, and refuse to hurt any being except for self-defense, per their cultural norm. As such, they are herbivorous.
  9. Man, as we know it, was a race introduced to the many worlds after the ecological collapse and subsequent apocalypse on Earth. Soon after their arrival to Maria, they were enslaved by the other races and fought an interplanetary war against the other races for their freedom. Nowadays, human society chooses to be pacifist and cooperative with the other native races, as their number dropped from eight billion to fourteen million over the course of only a century.
  10. The Orcs of the east are very much like the ancient Polynesians, sailing from shore to shore, in search of new and exciting lands. They are monotheistic, worshiping an “All-Known” who is revered for creating Equade by raising sand out of the ocean.

Racial Powers

Humans are the only race that can master lycanthrophy and many other abilities. See Lycanthropy for more info.

Metal Beings have mastered the ability of magnetokinesis. They use magnetic powers to assemble powerful machines which join their armies.

The cats have mastered the ability of psychological appeal. They use this to make trade deals and to avoid conflict by affecting the subconscious.

The bird-corgis have mastered the art of flight. They only fly when playing games or when being pursued.

The Ancients

The Ancients are a progenitor race originally from Mars. They were the first to create World Gates, with magic. After the Martian magnetic field was compromised they migrated en masse to Earth. They introduced pre-historic humans humanity to agriculture and mathematics. They were worshipped as gods until they left Earth and moved to a new plane of existence. Only one Ancient stayed to protect earth. After a demon attack on Earth this sole ancient used all of his remaining energy to save humanity and bestow upon them the technology of the World Gates.

Races of Humans In Narbus

All the humans in narbus come from Earth. Some of them have links to the races of Earth.

  1. The ancestors of Maria come from the Byzantine Empire after a World Gate appeared near Constantinople. The Delteneze speak a language similar to Greek and the marians speak a dialect of Latin.
  2. The ancestors of Felstrom come from Central Europe and speak an evolved form of Slavonic.

      3.  The ancestors of the Cornans/Orcs come from Southern Italy and speak a dialect of Italian.
