(Introduce yourself, where from, what you do, where are you in 1:1 )

Learning Targets

I CAN:

  • Analyze the ever-changing role of the teacher with regards to technology.
  • Define the 4 components of SAMR, and identify the role technology serves in a lesson.
  • Create lessons that support the ISTE Student Standards.
  • Evaluate whether or not a lesson would benefit from incorporating new technology.
  • Develop classroom practices best suited for a 1:1 environment.
  • Describe how my students demonstrate evidence of what my district values.
  • Develop an action plan to improve one component of learning in a 1:1 environment
  • Apply digital tools that help students achieve my district’s vision of learning.
  • I can use a backchannel  for students.
  • I can apply new classroom management practices in a 1:1 environment.
  • I can alter assessment practices to accommodate learning in a digital environment.

4 Assumptions

You are already a great teacher.

1:1 learning does not require you to be a tech expert.

Lisa and Jon do not have all the answers and are excited to

Your students are already doing great things. We want to learn from you!

Activity 2

SAMR and the Learning Process

Alan November:

I’m concerned that most one-to-one implementation strategies are based on the new tool as the focus of the program. Unless we break out of this limited vision that one-to-one computing is about the device, we are doomed to waste our resources.”

What do you want kids to WANT to do, create, or be?

SAMR Presentation

  1. In the Today's Meet, share an activity you've done in class, and identify where it fits on the SAMR scale.
  2. What could be changed with regards to Goal, Process, Technology, or Communication?
  1. How does this change affect the student’s experience?
