Sent to be the Good News, the hope that we proclaim.
Sent to be the Good News, serve others in God’s name.
We will shout it from the rooftops, with faith we will arise.
We will speak the Word and witness with our lives.
Sent to be the Good News, we’re sent to be the Good News.
School Council Meeting
The St. Stephen Catholic School Council will be holding their next meeting on Tuesday, May 23rd. All interested parents are welcome to attend the meeting, which will begin in the school staff room at 6:30pm. More information about the council can be found at: http://ste.ocsb.ca/catholic-school-council.
EQAO - Grades 3 & 6
A reminder that EQAO testing will begin this week. The Grade 6 students will be working on Language tasks, May 23-May 25 this week, while the Grade 3 students will be working on Language tasks, May 24-May 26. The Grade 3 and Grade 6 students will work on the Mathematics tasks next week. It is very important that students arrive at school on time and that, if possible, no appointments are booked for these days. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
A reminder to parents to make sure they are not parking at the Jackson Trails Condominiums, located beside the school, when they are dropping off or picking up students. The road at the complex is a fire route, so parents parking on that road risk getting tickets or getting towed.
Welcome to Kindergarten Evening
Our Kindergarten team will be holding their annual “Welcome to Kindergarten” event on Thursday, May 25th from 4-5:30pm. The event is for any families who have children who will be starting Junior Kindergarten at our school next year. The teachers will talk to parents about the Kindergarten program and have the children explore some of the activities the students work on in their Kindergarten classrooms.
Gospel Values Assembly
On Friday, May 26th, we will be holding a Gospel Values Assembly, at 12:20pm in the gym. We will be presenting certificates to students in Grades 1 to 6 who were selected from each class as students who demonstrate the need for, and importance of, stewardship of creation and excellence in their daily actions.
Wear Red & Black
All students are encouraged to wear red and black in support of the Ottawa Senators on Thursday, May 25th. The students can wear their Sens gear, or any other black and red clothing to support the team as they (hopefully) get ready to play Game 7 that night. If there is no game that night, students are still encouraged to wear red and black in honour of the great seasons that all of the Ottawa sports franchises have had this year! Go Sens Go!
